Becoming part of the School of Rock family is one of the best decisions that we have made for our daughter. If your child is interested in music, look no further! This place literally ROCKS!!!!
I love School of Rock as much as my son. Rick and Heidi are awesome and so genuine. It’s amazing how quickly you can, at any age, learn an instrument and master it. I attribute this to the excellent instructors. Would definitely recommend. My son has been going to the school for almost a year. He loves it and would be there 24/7 if he could.
At School of Rock children and teens are treated with respect. There is no bullying, teasing, etc. from other students. Teachers are excellent and my granddaughter has become s really good vocalist. Her confidence level went way up and she loves singing . I highly recommend School of Rock.
The school itself is great my son has a great time and enjoys all aspects of learning so far, in my personal opinion the front area could use some work, it’s always very awkward when I walk in, dont even get me started on having to wait for any length of time, there’s hardly a greeting or asking why you’re here. I get it, this place is unprofessionally proffesional but the courtesy could be tuned up for the safety of the kids.
Ehh
Very poor experience. Started off pretty good then just went downhill from there. The owner really doesn’t care about anything but the money and his ego. The instructors there are very nice but never available for lessons. Speaking from my experience, my instructor was almost never there and I was always offered a lesson in something that was unrelated. Probably because they had something more important to do than school of rock. You pay to play shows that aren’t even worth it. Sound is horrendous, no real sound guy, equipment is old and outdated, and when somebody like myself tries to fix it, they yell and say I “don’t know what I’m doing” even though the owner has no musical knowledge whatsoever. The other musicians there are really nice and I got along with them just fine. The biggest problem with school of rock is it’s owner. I had to quit in the middle of the “amazing tour” due to the fact that it was a miserable and depressing experience. Terrible food, no sleep, no showering, rooms were full of cockroaches and were in the middle of the ghetto. I love music and playing was great, but all of the other nonsense in between really turned me off from it. There was no concern for anybody’s health or wellbeing. Only when I threatened to leave, and subsequently did, they decided to act like they wanted to help but it was too late. I shouldn’t have had to beg to take a break from the nonstop unrelated music activities that were boring and tiring. According to the owner, THAT is what a REAL touring musician does. Which is completely false. Real touring musicians get paid, and are not bombarded with unnecessary activities. They play music, relax, and repeat. And any other activities they want to do is on their own desire. In conclusion, new management is very well needed in North Palm Beach School Of Rock.

School of Rock is such welcoming and fun place for kids (and adults!) of all ages to learn how to play an instrument, play music they like and put on performances that are unforgettable for all who attend! My son has been a student for 8 years (he’s 16 years old) and it’s his “home” away from home. He can’t imagine his life without SOR and neither can I!
Staff is wonderful and friendly. My kids started lessons in January and are in Rock 101. They love going to their private lessons and look forward to group rehearsal every week. They have classes for all ages ( including adults) and different genres of music to play. I enjoy sharing my love for music with my kids and seeing them learn and appreciate classic rock tunes.
My son has had the most amazing experience taking lessons, being in the performance program and being party of the entire school of rock family!!!

Absolutely the BEST thing I did for my daughter when we moved to Orlando. If your child has any interest in playing music, this is hands down the best place to be. The kids are so welcoming and my daughter has just blossomed. She absolutely loves going to classes. We drive an hour 4 days a week because nothing can replace the smile she has on her face. I can’t believe how well she plays bass guitar and her vocal coach has improved her singing so much. She is bursting with confidence!
I can’t say enough about this music program Wes runs for young musicians! This is a top notch music school. This school has had a huge influence on my son as a musician. Everyone needs to check out their semester concerts. Amazing.
If you want your child to succeed as a musician and reach for the this is place to take them the Instructers are very dedicated musicians and they know their skills.
en este lugar trataron mal a un amigo mio, no recomiendo para nada ver clases de musica aqui, no tienen etica para tratar a los estudiantes..
My son spent a month at the academy and it was one of the worst experiences we could have. My son attended classes on Wednesdays and on Saturdays. On Saturdays they rehearsed for the band. the last two weeks the teacher “Nick” did not want to teach him because he would not continue and he told my son who is only 16 years old that he was not wasting his time with him if he was not going to continue. If I pay for a whole month of classes, I have the right to demand all the classes during that month. Stay away if you don’t want to waste your time and money.
I was a student at this school. Absolutely horrible school the service is terrible, specifically the band director Nick is awful he doesn’t how to talk to students. For example, because I wasn’t going to continue on the band program he told me not to come back the next week that I had already paid for because I was wasting everyone’s time. I had already paid for the classes and had the right to participate. This is just unacceptable service. Don’t come here to waste your time and money

Derek and Michael have gone above and beyond for our students. They work tirelessly to make sure my son understands how to play a chord and demonstrate patience during the learning process. My son is learning how to play with other members of a band. His understanding of rhythm and tempo have greatly improved since starting their program. I highly recommend this program to other families!
The School of Rock has done a great job helping students to become the best they can. The house band absolutely rocks
First off the people and environment are very nice and relaxing. There are instruments and instructions on site. Separate areas pertaining to what you are doing. Kids 18 n younger have different age groups, and also 18+ and older can enjoy the same programs as kids. School of Rock is open to everyone, whether you want to learn an instrument or be a singer. They look forward to seeing and having fun with you.
Left voicemails trying to get purchase guitar lessons for my granddaughter, no return calls, no one answers the phone.

My son receives his piano lessons at School of Rock. The school’s instructors are enthusiastic about teaching and that shows in just how well the child is learning. Music lessons can often seem like a chore to an active child, but Wes and his team make it more of a treat than a obligation. I strongly recommend School of Rock!
Your show today in Eustis @ GeorgeFest was EPIC!!!!!!
During the 1st set I was amazed by their ages. By the start of the 2nd that wasn’t a thought. It was just Pure Musicians playing with so much passion & love.
I met all of you today and almost all of your parents & I hope to see each one of you again in Eustis for some “First Friday’s” I will be personally work on that!!!!! ASAP [Aka Monday 🙂 ]
Thank You & Keep up all your hard work and dedication to your art!!!
We could not be more thrilled with what SoR has provided us. We just moved to the area & were desperately searching for an activity our son would love. We signed him up for a guitar class at school & immediately recognized his talent. Wes was incredibly helpful & patient. He never provided any pressure & gave us an opportunity to test out the school. Our son did a trial session w/ Ron and he couldn’t stop raving about how much he enjoyed everything about it, especially, Ron. In addition to the one-on-one session, we signed up for the shows. We never imagined it would’ve been as good as it turned out to be. He has become friends with everyone at SoR. We are proud to say that our son has improved greatly. His personality has changed for the positive, since enrolling in the SoR. Thanks to Wes, Ron, Adam, the students, and everyone else who makes the SoR the place it is. We highly recommend SoR to anyone who has any inkling of a desire to play music.
Great communication Wes handled a situation for me and we are very satisfied.

I like that once there is a comfort level with the instrument, there is an opportunity to play in a band. I think this is very inspiring for young musicians. The instructors are great and the music is current and relevant.
My 5 year old loves attending the music class here. He has been exposed to such a diverse array of music and instruments. I always recommend School of Rock to other Moms. Such a great place and so much fun!
Totally love School of Rock. I was really nervous and shy about learnibg drums but everybody has made me feel so welcome and relaxed that i have been enjoying every time i get a lesson. Classes are very personal and they really care about making you feel comfortable with the instrument, even if you’ve never played anything in your life. Absolutley recommend to try it out.

I am super happy with this school, my son started 3 years ago during covid, with no knowledge of any musical instrument, at that time he wasn’t very good in sports and decided to take a chance on music. Angel has definitely learned discipline, responsibility, and definitely drumming. we tend to call him (DRUMONGUS) Laura, and Her amazing talented staff , Jess , Brian , and Issa are simply amazing , and really show that they are really passionate about the kids and school.. thank you school of rock, you really rock.
School of rock is a wonderful learning environment for young musicians. It provides students a strong sense of community where children feel safe, have positive relationships, and are free to learn and explore. My 8 year old daughter has been there a few years and loves it there. The staff are always very welcoming and supportive of her varied musical interests. We especially love their summer camps, which expose her to new musical instruments and teaches her new skills.
I improved in playing my instrument when being here. Great experience!

I visited and took a free class. The director Marcel is an incredible teacher. Unfortunately my job schedule could not fit to take classes on the same day which they require for the monthly plan. A little miscommunication but the owner and manager Jasmin resolved all my concerns. I hope to join in the future they are super nice and professional here. Destiny. 🙂
Amazing program. My daughter loves everything The school of rock has to offer. From her one on one lessons and her group practice she is always excited and ready to go. The staff is warm, welcoming and always ready at her schedule time. My daughter looks forward to seeing them. I recommend the school of rock to everyone that is looking for a great music program for their kids. To be able to offer some history and old school rock and roll music (some stuff we haven’t listen to before) is new and exciting for her and myself.
My son a guitar player. My daughter an aspiring singer and great dancer. We signed up a few months ago and so far they are having a great time and learning.
The Owner is about as good as it gets. Knows my kids by name and never misses an opportunity to encourage them. She is the same for all the children at the School. Don’t know how she remembers everybody.
Staff follows the owners lead.

My daughter has been a student here for 2 years. Personally, I love music but didn’t really grow up in a rock ‘n’ roll household. We were a little apprehensive about putting our child in a rock and roll type of environment as we are a bi-racial family and we were not sure what to expect. From day one my daughter loved it! These guys are amazing. They’re so patient with the kids. My daughter was only six years old when she started. We quickly realized that music is music and kindness is kindness.
As I leave my daughter’s concert during the middle of a pandemic and some of the most radical racial divides I have seen in my lifetime these guys remind me that there’s still hope for our society. Good music is good music and good energy is good energy. People of all walks and status and race gathered today to watch their children play music. It was a beautiful thing in these decisive times.
I would recommend that anyone send their child to this institution. Special thank you to the team at school of rock. I may have never said it but you’ve added so much to our lives!
My granddaughter is loving the chance to develop her voice singing current songs. She’s about a month into the voice lessons and group jams and enjoying the warmth from everyone!
Great mix of private lessons, working with a group of other kids, and performance. Just a great group of people! This is our third year at SOR and I love the exposure to the various music of the times – it really opens their eyes as a young musician.Come January 2021 we realized just how much being a musician was a huge part of who our son is, even at 12 years old, and we needed to make a family decision to extend his “exposure bubble” and allow him to go back to SOR. We realized private lessons at home wasn’t enough for him, he seemed to be losing his identity as a musician and he needed to get back to the face to face interaction of playing with other young musicians in the group sessions. Sending our son back to SOR in-person was the best decision we have made all year! As a family that has been very COVID-conscience, we are VERY impressed and pleased with how SOR South Palm has adapted with the times and the safety measures taken for the students and the staff…EXCELLENT JOB SOUTH PALM SOR! And this goes for finishing the Spring 2020 session too… way to teach that the show must go on!I would also like to say that School of Rock as a global company did a fabulous job during the COVID shutdown Spring of 2020. The online artist sessions with professionals was a great, unique experience and it gave my young musician something to look forward to during the long, lonely days. What a great job at opening the eyes of young musicians in many aspects, and it gave the kids perspective and drive in a time of uncertainty. Thank you to all who made those happen! How our local SOR dealt with the shutdown was amazing too! They were communicative and didn’t skip a beat with figuring out how to continue this great program virtually.
There are positives to the school. Scott and Mary are committed to what they do and have a belief. They hire some good instructors (but the level of instruction varies greatly). My daughter is 7, but has been playing violin for a few years. She wanted to expand into guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Not enough time was set aside for her to explore before the Rock 101 was set to do a performance. Group became repetitive and boring.
My daughter didn’t like the group lesson , would be nice if they have an intermediate class, they either are very advance or beginners she tried to fit in , they worked with us on trying both classes but she still didn’t like it. She is 11 years old, they only had younger group and at her level or her age group and very advance. She didn’t want to be with the six year olds. Would be nice if they have her age group and beginner level. Now she does not want to try anything, her confidence is very low now! I recommend the private lesson only, her private teacher was very good!

I am a student at this school and I am so impressed with everything. The teachers train you thoroughly and help with technique. I play piano and I have improved so much over the last few weeks that I’ve been taking lessons. The owner is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this school as a place to choose for your child to start learning a musical instrument. The price is also good for what they teach.
The best school of music in Central Florida … great teachers
St. Pete Music, Acting, and Dance (MAD)
Address: 165 13th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33705 , Ens , Florida , United States
St. Pete Music, Acting and Dance, formerly known as Play Performing Arts Studio has grown so much in the last year, as much as it has grown my daughter’s talents in the arts of song writing, acting, dancing and singing. It is a family owned studio where you instantly become one of the family upon joining in the fun. It is not just a place to learn and grow your child’s talents, but a place to grow your child’s community of support and your parent village. You will make life long friends here and will find that the owner Dru Rabin, manager Jennifer Michelle Bell, and instructors like Maddie Willett will nurture and develop your child’s confidence and individual strengths in every way. This is a very special place and we are truly blessed to have taken this journey with Play, now St Pete M.A.D. Fantastic fun in every way! This is a non-competitive, but highly professional studio, where everyone has a chance to shine and be a star!
We came to St. Pete Mad for the spring production of 101 Dalmations in 2022. We had seen some friends posting about a previous production and thought it looked like something our daughter would be interested in. Fast forward a year and our daughter is now rehearsing for her fourth MAD production, Legally Blond, Jr. It has been a total game-changer for her and our family. She loved it from the very first minute of the audition process, through the rehearsals, and the performances. Most of her friend group is now from MAD, and she comes home giddy from every rehearsal. From a parent’s perspective, what we have been so impressed with is the level of professionalism displayed in every aspect of the program. From very clear instructions about the audition process, through a well-organized schedule of rehearsals, down to the high-level of production value of the performances, every thing is well thought out and curated. What we love as parents is that there is routine, stability, and a high level of expectation, but also flexibility and warmth from the staff. We are consistently impressed with the amount our daughter is learning about the world of theater, and how happy she is with the friends she has made. Great attention is paid to not only the “mechanics” of performing, but also to the importance of community, and treating others with love and respect. It is a special thing they have created at St. Pete Mad, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Our family has been at MAD since it opened in 2016. I believe my daughter was the first student to enroll and we’ve loved it ever since! You can’t go wrong…camps are super fun, private music/voice lessons, acting classes, and so on. We have 4 kids and have tried it all! They have a great group of talented instructors too! We are big fans of MAD!
