Our grandson started initially with a summer camp at School of Rock. He fell in love and we couldn’t believe how quickly he learned. We began lessons that fall and we see constant improvement as well as his passion for drums has only grown in the year he’s taken lessons. The School of Rock method of combining private lessons with playing in a band really promotes a real love for music.
It’s actually fun! The one on one lessons are great in helping prepare for the group rehearsals, making me very much look forward to the upcoming performance. Knowing of the upcoming performance is also a good impetus to practice and be ready.
And actually playing and rehearsing in a group situation is such a unique experience!

We were so excited when the sign went up in 2020 that our daughter was signed up before SOR even opened! Since then our son has joined and they both have loved every minute. The owners and staff have become like friends and I can not say enough good things about the instructors, the shows, and the positive atmosphere they create for kids. Our son says it’s the only place where he feels like he can be himself. If your kids are interested in music this is the place to be.
SOR has been a wonderful experience all around! Our son has found “his thing” and looks forward to both the jam sessions with his band and his 1:1 each week.
The School of Rock West Cobb has been great for us. My very shy daughter started one year ago to learn guitar. Six months later she was singing lead and playing guitar on stage for a 5-piece school band in front of hundreds of people. The music instruction is fantastic, but it’s more than that. It’s about building confidence and working together as a team (band) that helps the kids learn more than just music.
