My daughter has been a student at School of Rock for about two years now. She came in only knowing a little bit about guitar. Her instructor, Nate has been phenomenal with her. Two years later, she has advanced to the performance band, which is a huge deal! And they go all out for these students, setting up for them to perform on stages at local venues, letting them feel like real rock stars! Due to Covid, this seasons performance has changed, but they are still doing what they can to help the students feel like true performers! I have nothing but good things to say about everyone at School of Rock!
Love School of Rock. Great job with lessons and I love the performance shows.
I like that the curriculum has theory built into it along with teaching the kids how to play songs. It’s keeping my son motivated to practice and remain interested. Playing with other students and instruments can be intimidating but the environment hat Rock 101 offers has been a confidence booster. Great experience overall!
Summer Camp is so much fun for my guitarist! It brings out the little rockstar in her. I love the energy of the teachers and how they inspire the kids to do their best! I would give it 5 out of 5 stars, but the cost is high for lessons and camp.

Both of our children love attending Right At School. Seeing my sons growth in playing drums, as well as my daughters progress with Piano demonstrates the quality on the method of the instructors teaching at School of Rock. The environment is fun and joyful. I would highly recommend School of Rock Elmhurst to everyone.
My son loves playing guitar at School of Rock Elmhurst! His teaching is first rate, and the experience playing in a band with his peers makes him excited to practice and play each week. It’s amazing to see the caliber of performances they are able to pull together each season. Keep up the great work, SOR!
Collin is an amazing GM and is quick to respond to my questions. Mackenzie helps me with scheduling conflicts and is always helpful when I need to make changes. The instructions send strong feedback after each session so my boys can continue implementing tools between sessions. SOR Elmhurst is the location to choose- I won’t say which one, but I had a poor experience with another SOR. So, if you are deciding on which location to work with, I highly recommend Elmhurst!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it here. My daughter won’t stop talking about it. Great space, everyone is friendly and I love the vibe.
Wish a few teachers had a little more training in controlling kids. Some kids like to take control of the class and a couple teachers are too gentle in calling them. It effects class time for others.
Very unprofessional.

School of Rock has dedicated teachers who really care about their students and a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
Great program, wonderful space for the students to really build relationships and confidence, and the kids really respond well to the instructors. Each show is so much fun.
We just started at The School of Rock a few weeks ago and my kids are obsessed! It’s such a welcoming environment and they get to try different instruments and sing “cool rock n roll” songs. My kids are 4 and 7.
9/10, not enuf jaz

I appreciate how teachers adjust their plan for individuals as well as the fact that students receive both a solo lesson and a group lesson.

This place is literally amazing, I would never have dreamed that I would playing guitar after only 4 months of lessons, I would perform in one of the coolest clubs in Chicago singing some of my favorite Beatles songs. This School of Rock specifically has given me opportunities I never could have dreamed of getting, such as playing at renowned clubs and venues around Chicago. When I started in March of 2013, I was a total R&B/soul genre type of musician and was solely a vocalist. Now, I love a wide variety of indie, classic rock, modern rock bands, grunge, punk, and even some prog rock. I first picked up a guitar in June, started lessons in August, and can play incredible songs like Band on the Run (Wings) and Knights of Cydonia (Muse). What’s even better about this rock school is the environment we are put into-all the students quickly bond and we all learn from each other. It is an INCREDIBLE program and I cannot thank SoR Hinsdale and Patrick McKenna (general manager and director of House Band) enough for all the professional experience and new opportunities I’ve encountered while here. I learn from the students, the school, the teachers, and the music more everyday.
Absolutely LOVE this SOR! They have such a great group of instructors who are knowledgeable, talented and completely dedicated to the development of young musicians. Top-Down they are fantastic and my daughter plans to continue being a part of it through high school and come back to be an instructor! Thank you SOR for helping my daughter find her passion and flourish! ~Very Happy Parent of a Girl Drummer
I love that the Instructors and Management encourage kids of all skill levels.
I love that they challenges the kids to take chances without fear of consequences.
I love that experienced kids get a change to be mentors to newer members.
I love the faces of the kids coming off the stage after just killing a set.
I love the variety of the music that the kids are introduced to.
I love seeing kids playing multiple instruments.
I could go on and on,
I love what School of Rock is all about.

Absolutely love school of Rock. We tried guitar lessons from other music stores and my son just didn’t stick with it. He loves school of rock. They have a completely different approach. Highly recommend!
Everything – the kids, instructors & staff are all great. Just a fun, safe environment for kids to rock.
Experienced staff, amazing instructors, good people…
Disappointing. I have two kids there. They decided to switch my kids lesson whither I liked it or not, because her teacher was needed elsewhere. They were having her teacher teach a group class. So they inconvenienced us to make more money whither we liked it or not.
My other child is in group kids class, it doesn’t seem like he’s learning anything. He spent one day drawing a picture of drums and played no music. It’s more like music themed daycare than music lessons. Classes start late every week.
I was using SoR in Elmhurst. They rarely had the same teacher from week to week, at least there each kid got to play their own instruments for the class. My scheduled changed and they don’t have Sat classes. Usually with the franchisee model things are held together a lot better.
It’s too bad because I like the model where kids play together.

It’s a real place – better than the movie! Full of talented teachers and great programs for all levels of students. My kids love this place for summer camps as well as ongoing weekly programs. It seems there is a good buzz around the organization and they are very active in performing around town. I highly recommend this business.
My son has been drumming here for almost 3 years. We will be continuing for many more. It is a place where kids can learn and appreciate music…rock music! If your child has any interest in being a first class rocker, you’ve got to check it out

So many talented children… Bravoo boys & girls you Rock!!!
Good infrastructure and ambiance
My daughter loves the zoom voice lessons and her in person band practices.
My son had an awesome time at School of Rock today.
Love School of Rock! The approach of mixing individual lessons with a band of peers and actual performances is perfect for learning and staying motivated. The instructors are great, and the bands have a chance to play venues all over the area. We have been with the school since they opened a few years ago. Our son has moved from guitar and bass to drums, and had a great experience with each instrument. The staff is responsive and friendly, the kids have developed real friendships, and they are playing great music (no hot cross buns played on repeat at this school).
Kind and informative. But not very professional on the phone.

My son has enjoyed all his School of Rock teachers and the many opportunities they provide to expand his musical interests.
We have had our son in the Arlington Heights School of Rock for a couple years and it is amazing how quickly his guitar skills have progressed! He takes lessons and also participates in the shows. The show preparation is rigorous but it has really accelerated his skills – it is amazing how the prospect of performing for a live audience compels you to practice! You also don’t want to let your bandmates down. In addition to the musical training, the kids are forced to work together for the performances and get along with each other. I think this side benefit has been almost as important as the musical training. It’s a great program, I highly recommend it. Jim, the owner, is also a great guy!
Great performance learning and experiences!
listened at the show at the library, very good.
They do an excellent job trying to ensure the student experience is a positive and rich one. My daughter loves her instructor.
