Excellent program! Friendly staff! My daughter can’t wait to go to her class each week
We love SoR!!! Our son (Alex B) has been playing there for about 6 years. He loves hard rock (KISS, GnR, AC/DC, etc), and he’s played in many shows. He’s also played in at least one week of camp every summer, which is a very different experience–pulling a show together in a short period of time with kids you don’t know–very impressive! There’s a song he’s played in three different shows over the years–Smells Like Teen Spirit. It’s been great to see his skill, confidence, and stage presence improve each time he plays it. Outside of SoR, Alex practices on his own, learns new riffs from YouTube, collects guitars, and has even built his own guitar. As a young child, he was shy and very quiet. As he has matured, he has definitely come out of his shell with the help of the performance program. Thank you SoR NC!
The best thing that happened to my family. Love it!
There’s a lot of kids in these programs… some work harder than others and it’s clear they have their favorites. If you’re not one of them, it will just be an average experience, so don’t be fooled by the high ratings. Unless you really push for it, don’t expect much.

Really just an amazing place to let your hair down and learn music. Ryan is an incredibly gifted instructor that teaches with an individual’s experience and personality in mind. There are no cookie cutter lessons here. Ari is incredibly patient and kind and it’s just a joy to learn from him. Let’s not forget Sean, he’ll tell you like it is and encourage your strengths while giving clear direction on areas in need of improvement. Chris is the great “orchestra conductor” that makes everything happen. Bravo to Jeff for putting together such a great team!!!!!
School of Rock is a great place for anyone who attends! The instructors are all very knowledgeable and caring and want all of their students to succeed. The ability to have so many resources at your disposal is immensely helpful. I have vastly improved my playing skills by taking lessons and being in the performance group!
My daughter joined SoR about two years ago. The entire staff at SoR White Plains does so much for her. Beyond teaching her an instrument and how to work within a group/band setting, they are helping her along her life long journey of processing her experiences. They give her a safe place, and tools to unlock the emotions she wants express through music. I cannot thank the SoR White Plains team enough.

Great place to learn to play and perform for kids and adults.
As an adult with no prior music training, I was amazed at how quickly School of Rock, Cresskill’s teacher, Miles Strand got me playing and performing on the bass guitar. Within 3 months of picking up the bass for the first time, I performed with the Grad School group at a real music venue. It was a wonderful experience and I just completed my 3rd show as a bass player. Believe me, if I can learn anyone can learn!
Great environment, nice and professional employees. My 4 years old loves it
They keep charging over $300 every month even though we stopped attending months ago. I called them and they’re saying it’s ‘policy’ and they can give ‘future credit’, no refund.
