This is our first season with SOR and so far things are going great. My daughter loves it, especially her weekly group lesson.
My daughter love this place , teachers are great .
Really nice place. Friendly staff who worked with us on getting what we were looking for. My son was hesitant at first. Now, he loves it.
I recently had demo classes for my kids.
Even though I was wearing a mask, the reception lady constantly checked my mask and asked me to pull it up higher. (3times!!) It felt very unpleasant and disrespected. She kept following and cleaned up all the handles that I touched..
Also my daughter lost her ear plugs during the class, and one of male teachers were upset at her because she lost her “nasty” ear plug with germ. She came out crying. I FELT SO UPSET AND UNCOMFORTABLE HERE.. ( you can only drop your kids and can’t go in there)
Why do they even open the business, if they are that concerned.
If you are that concerned to make your customers uncomfortable, shut down your bussiness until all this ends!!
My eight yr old daughter was so upset at the end of camp this week. She was given no musical or vocal instruction after spending a week at the Johns Creek School of Rock in Georgia. It appears that they put way way too many students in the class to really do anything worthwhile….good for their profits though. She had been so looking forward to going and was so upset that she wasted a week of her summer vacation and learned nothing.

This place is AWESOME! My daughter takes a keyboard and voice lessons here. She also participates in Rock 101 which is a rock band for kids. School of Rock encourages their students to have fun while learning their instrument. We love this place so much that we may have signeds our daughter up for de lessons as well.
The owner and instructors are phenomenal! I highly recommend School of Rock for kids and adults looking to take lessons.
Our family enjoy lessons with Rick! He is great teacher. He can play everything.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN WE PLAYED QUEEN SONG YOU SHOULD COME HERE

This place is awesome. Staff is so friendly that my daughter never needs me do walk inside with her. When your child can’t wait to go to the class theoyou know she or he is on the right place. I hardly recommend this place.
School of Rock has been such a great expirence for our son. They have really fostered a love of music in him. He loves his instructor and loves playing with other kids. It’s a great place with great people.
Steve and all the instructors are so wonderful with the kids. They push them to be better musicians all while having a lot of fun!
Update : The owners reply is complete bogus, but who wouldn’t want to defend their business from a less than perfect review?
If they had tried even a smidgen as hard as she says they did, our experience would have been much different.
I really wish I could give this music school 5 stars, but they really didnt earn it.
My son started lessons and was really enjoying it BEFORE he started their Rock101 program. I suppose that for those kids who are fully immersed in music, that is a great program. However, for those of us raising a child with multiple interests, it’s just TOO MUCH. The school highly suggests that is you’re enrolled in multiple lessons that you also enroll in their Rock101 program. Being brand new to the school, we fell for the pitch and did just that.
We were TOLD that if our child wanted to sing as well as play the drums, then he had to be enrolled in Voice lessons as well. So we did that! Then, they take a whole group of kids, who are all brand new to the Rock101 program, and try to get them to work in sync at the direction of their band leaders. That sounds great, right? I thought so too… but there is NO PARENTAL involvement allowed, they do not communicate how things are going with your child in Rock101 (aka band practice) and they expect all of these kids to learn 7-8 songs over a 3-4 month period! To top it off, our son is ADHD and on the spectrum, but was made to understand that if he couldn’t get his songs down (after 3 sessions!) then they would give his part to someone else! THEN, they distribute the new cast list, and low and behold, you DON’T have to be enrolled in voice lessons to be the lead singer…. So, I am going to SAVE my $415/month (yup!) and move my kid to a school that cares to teach him the drums at HIS PACE. He can start a band in in our GARAGE when he’s READY!
My daughter started here at the start of summer break (6G) in the rookies program. Upon the first day, I was given a great deal of attitude from Helen, the young girl at the front desk. Helen was automatically disrespectful toward both myself and my daughters grandmother on multiple occasions (both over the phone and in studio). I eventually became reserved. We continued however and I sent in a survey about my interaction, which was supposed to be read by the owner, but was apparently also read by the front desk (Helen). I received an email from the owner apologizing at first and stating she would handle it. We completed 3 months and then decided to withdraw, as summer is over and the experience was never any different. Helen of course was even worse after this..
The owner (Angie) emailed my mother after she sent in a complaint about both Helen and the fact she was charged for September (she gifted my daughter with lessons for summer) when we weren’t going to be in attendance and gave a 30 day notice (we were refunded today). However, the owner (as soon as we were completely withdrawn) also became rude and told us that “nobody else had issues with Helen.” Ok? Then she became rude about the refund like we were not supposed to confirm. Rude staff, they don’t give you updates on anything your child has done in class or any progress. After everything, towards the end, we are offered to come in and talk with the owner, while HELEN is present. As if parents want to come in and spend additional time to deal with this ridiculous behavior on there off time in a meeting with someone who’s made us uncomfortable and been extremely off putting with every interaction & singled us out very clearly (for what reason we don’t know), so no we didn’t come, but at this point, we were done. Helen is clearly a very unhappy individual with some mental health issues (a lot of mood shifts) and we hope she is able to get the help she needs.

There method of one-on-one teaching followed by group performance really works. Everyone is motivated to practice and prepare to perform.
Instructors are very patient and helpful. Whole staff is friendly and really, the true test is how the kids feel about it. They always come out excited to talk about what they’ve learned. Music is such an overwhelmingly important part of life and it’s a gift that School of Rock respects and nurtures. Can’t recommend enough.
I can’t say enough great things about the staff at School Of Rock, West Cobb.
My son attended their heavy metal camp this past week. What an amazing experience! The kids learned 5 complex metal songs by heart in the space of 5 days. The SOR staff were so encouraging and supportive.
It was so cool that the week ended with a garage band type performance for the 2 bands. We will definitely be coming back to SOR in the future!
