Fantastic program, awesome opportunities, fantastic staff and management. This school rocks!
It’s an amazing program.
Great place with loads of stores to explore. Good restaurants to visit, a large selection and mostly all of them are reasonably priced and good quality.

It is a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends.
We stayed here. Very peaceful. Yes there are a few ruts in the road from rain but if it was that bad I would rake it myself. Love the few planes going over. TY for such a beautiful large park.
Quite… A small community on Dover AFB grounds, so you do need access to the base to utilize FamCamp….
Sites are large and level. Campground is across the road from a large park so younger kids have a big play area. It’s near landing areas so there is some noise but enjoyed watching the planes a lot more than the noise bothered me. It would be nice if you could use the commercial gate as an entrance as it’s a lot closer than the main gate and the main gate curbs aren’t designed for large rv’s, you will have to get on them to come in but they are rounded so as long as you go slow it’s not that big of a deal. Nice commissary and decent exchange nearby. Whole base has been out of ice for the week we’ve been here. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. For those that might be bothered by certain sounds, the campground is right off Rte 1 and right next to the flight line so there’s the usual noise associated with that. None of that mattered to us. The sites are very large and easy to back in, and navigating through base was a breeze (huge deal for us!). There are no fire pits and there’s only one washer/dryer for approx 10 sites. Otherwise, this is an excellent military campground at a very good price with FHUs. Oh, definitely check out the museum across the campground!

Wonderful place to hear great music and study with the best teachers in the Tristate area
I have been studying violin here for the past year, and have nothing but good things to say about them. In addition to lessons, they offer multiple concerts each month. A great place for music enthusiasts!
A little expensive. BUT IT”S GREAT!

We’ve been sending both of our kids there for a few years now and could not be more pleased with the experience. Yes, they’ve gained valuable musical skills that they may or may not use throughout their lives but more importantly, they’ve gained *confidence*. They’ve gained the ability to set a goal and achieve it. Through the Rock Band programs, they’ve learned to work as a collaborative team towards a shared objective. These are the skills that will serve them well in music and beyond.
In addition, the teachers are not only top-notch, A-level musicians but they are GREAT at working with the kids.
Highly recommended!!!
What an awesome place to rock out! The teachers are dedicated and the staff is very helpful. It’s wonderful to hear the range of music the kids play, and their outfits are ecclectic. Best of all, the outdoor music festival in the delightfully grungy parking lot!
Our son loves singing but would have lost interest if he wasn’t able to learn singing skills by using the music he loves. His skills and confidence in his singing have blown us away. He also prepped for a big audition with Cecelia! She is the best! She is so encouraging and talented. Jared is always present and cheering the kids on and excited for their growth. It is a big family of music lovers and everyone is welcome!

Great program. The instructors are excellent and show genuine interest in the musical development of their students. Watching the musical development of our kids over the years has been incredible. It is also interesting to see these students embrace the many genre’s of music played here (which predate the parents). SoR Downingtown is more than just a music school. It also offers a community for students and families driven by a common passion for music.
It isn’t possible for me to say enough good things about this program. Its a tremendous opportunity for kids of all talent levels to explore music in a fun, safe, encouraging, club-like atmosphere that can develop kids as far as they want to go; from just having some fun grinding out some licks, or all the way to professional performer.
They learn by playing some great rock songs, and get plenty of stage time. They learn not just how to play the music, but how to perform it. They encourage kids to push past their comfort zones on stage and have a blast doing it. There is no such thing as failure, there is just way too much fun going on for that. I guarantee you will see some things from your child that you never expected, we certainly did.
The staff is tremendous, from the music instructors, many of whom have professional touring experience and know just how to drive the kids, to the site managers, who keep the whole experience fun and friendly, while tolerating no funny business. Its a bit like herding artistic teenage cats, but they do it so well that the kids like to go just to hang out sometimes even if they don’t have a rehearsal.
Parents will have a great time too. No dreaded boring recitals here, these shows are flat-out fun concerts of great music in a friendly social environment.
If you have, or know, a child with any interest in music, you can’t possibly give them a better opportunity to learn to love music and to know what its like to be in a rock band.
My 2 boys are in the performance program and love it. I am amazed of the progress they have made. I would recommend this program for the following reasons: increased self confidence, a life-long skill of playing an instrument, exposure to all genres of rock music, encouraging and knowledgeable instructors, making friends with similar interests, overall a fun and inclusive environment.
After TWO MONTHS of them rescheduling (once was just 24 hours before), we give up and are going elsewhere. Shame because my daughters were excited but we’re at the point where even they’re saying enough is enough.
We loved the vibes at SoR and everyone seemed competent, but it seems scheduling is their weakness. The program has great structure on paper and seems like its worth the additional few dollars a month (compared to other music schools).
I would rate 1 star for scheduling alone but I feel that’d be unfair to the instructors and in all fairness, aside from my daughters’ trial lessons, we never got the SoR experience to even give an accurate rating.
Save the headache and show some love to one of the tons of other local instructors in the area.
really great experience. i did a camp there this summer and i had a great time. the instructor and teachers were cool, along with the kids i preformed with. i really recommend it if you’re interested in playing music. i feel like it’s such a different kind of place. definitely doing it again next year.
Very desorganized and terrible communication! I came here last week with my husband and my 7 years old daughter to learn better about what the school has to offer and about the programs. I was given a folder with all the information and they scheduled a trial singing lesson for my daughter for the following weekend. When we came here today and after taking the trial they said my daughter could only start when she turns 9 years old. So they made me go ahead with the trial, waste my time and my family’s time coming all the way here. At the end to just say there’s been a mistake and the person with whom I scheduled the trial should have not scheduled. They gave us concert tickets for the past weekend and we actually came with the kids to know the place better and to help with our decision. For nothing! Very frustrated with the little consideration and little respect with us!!! I do not recommend this place! Carpet and floor very dirty as well.
ok so i attend this school and it’s great but you literally have to wait around for nearly 2 hours just to practice 1 or 3 song if you’re in a show. the drum lessons are fun but unless you’re kid is 13 or younger this place is not for them. im 16 and all i do is sit here waiting for them to call me up while i listen to children in 5th or 6th grade screaming and yelling and running around. they also make you buy at least $120 worth of tickets for the show you preform at. my family just recently moved here and we literally have 0 friends out here so we paid 40 per person (my mom dad and sister are the only ones going) which is an absolute scam. please just come here for lessons and not to preform in a concert unless your kid is an immature brat who loves to scream and run like he’s on fire or something. the only reason why i’m not giving this daycare 1 star is because my drum teacher is one of the coolest people here, plus the show director is nice.
i remember being a kid and the jack wagons turned off my amp right before I went on a show and it was pretty intentional. They wanted me to just have a spot, not to actually play. Consider this place schemey. There’s way better instructors out there.

school of rock came to Goshen County fair, these kids are so talented!!!
I am so happy with the quality of my teacher. David U. has a great way of pushing me on the drums without leaving me behind. He inspires regular practice and I’m determined to get my left hand as coordinated as my right!
Friendly staffs
Don’t bring you kid here if they are not a pro at music. You will get 3 songs and no respect. The practices for shows are two hours of time wasted.
Make sure you understand the 30 day cancelation policy. These are Corporate policy to charge you even if you don’t go. Wasn’t clear to me. Now I get burned. Rock & Roll style.

The Doylestown School of Rock is my second home. It has not only provided me with a fantastic musical education, friends that I’ll have for the rest of my life, and opportunities to travel the East Coast playing music, but it has also provided me with memories that will stick with me for years to come. The School of Rock isn’t just an after-school program, it is a family that you grow into both socially and musically.
School of Rock teaches teamwork. For kids who do not participate in other group activities, such as team sports, the lessons in cooperation to create harmony are very valuable. I like that students are not grouped by musical ability or age or social cliques. The diverse mix each season allows the advanced students to take on a larger role and allows the novice musicians to learn and be inspired by others. This approach contrasts with most sports teams, where students are tracked by ability and can lose interest when they feel marginalized. The novice musicians are taught to take pride in their performance. In 8th grade my daughter lost her confidence. She apologized constantly, dropped out of group activities and withdrew from her peers. But somehow School of Rock managed to give her the confidence to perform on stage even though she was a beginner. Even as she struggled to remain in school, she insisted on continuing with School of Rock because she didn’t want to let down her band. Her show performance was her proudest moment. She has now participated in 5 shows. Each show remains a thrilling experience, and a real bright event of her year.
I have been a student for 3 years with this part of the School of Rock franchise, and all I have to say is that this place let me do and become what I’ve always wanted to. I wish I could have a few more seasons or years even at this place but I had the greatest times of my life with this place than I ever had in any other part of my life!

So fun and cool
thank you for your service
Nothing special, (YAWN) just a Air Base with expensive toys. Forget this place on a Sunday. Everything is closed. Shoppette was open.
It is 99% accurate
Need more dining options on base
If you ever hear taps or the national anthem played over the loud speakers at Dover AFB, that sums up this base as a whole pretty well.
Who is in charge of traffic control leaving the Air Show…..nobody by the looks of this mess!
Truckers be aware! No Respect. I highly suggest to look for another load.
