How much fun is this! A terrific path towards learning an instrument…. proving the School of Rock is for all ages (I’m 56)…… my son, 10, inspired me…

My son (12) plays drums, and my daughter (14) plays guitar. We’ve been going to SoR Natick since late February and they are having a great time.
It is expensive, especially with two kids going at the same time, but if you count the 2.5 hours a week of rehearsal time + the .75 hours a week of instruction time it comes out to about $23/hour ($325 a month divided by ~14 hours/month). Granted they are not playing for the full 2.5 hours of rehearsal time, it’s still a good value if you consider music store lessons are $25-$35 for a *half* hour.
The performance program also encourages the kids to practice more often then when they were taking individual lessons. If you value working as a team as a valuable life skill, but your child is not a team sports kind of kid (or maybe you’re not a team sports kind of parent…) SoR is a great program for them to learn work as a team while building a skill they’ll have for life.

Our kids had a blast at School of Rock camp with Mark, Celine, and Hannah. I cannot recommend this method and team enough! our kids had no real music experience and came out of the camp excited to learn more and hone their new skills as music lovers. Thank you!

Wonderful staff and teachers all with a passion for music and helping students reach the next level. Kids learn not only how to become better musicians, but more importantly how to work together to put on a show. Very collaborative and supportive environment.
Fantastic experience for any kid who enjoys music. School of Rock gives two of my sons, who are not sports-inclined, the chance to make social connections and have an activity to direct their energy into.
My Son looks forward to his lessons every single week! He has been very motivated to play his guitar with a mission to constantly improve himself. This has had tremendous impact in giving him a positive self esteem. I’m truly glad he has joined SOR and they certainly have my continued support.

My daughter really enjoys her time at School of Rock. She is a vocal student and she loves the band performances they do out at real venues. The teachers at SOR are wonderful. Management replies quickly to any questions or concerns. Highly recommend.
School of Rock’s unique method of teaching is off the charts fun and exciting. By being brought into a band you learn teamwork and just how important doing your job properly is. The responsibility of being in a band and knowing you have shows to perform helps drive you to succeed and with the success comes the desire to learn and grow further. It has been an awesome experience and the staff at Seekonk School of Rock is second to none. They are all true professionals and great to work with. My music night is always my favorite night of the week!
Had a trial lesson for my son this past weekend. Even though we ultimately determined he was too young to begin guitar, I will definitely return when he is older as everyone was so kind and knowledgable.

School of Rock Norwood has been such a great place for our son!
Amazing
School of Rock has become a huge part of my son’s life. He loves that he’s found others that share his passion for music. In addition to participating in lessons, performance group and house band, he and some of his SOR friends have formed their own band.
Update Sept 2023: The Norwood School of Rock fell apart in Spring 2023 due to actions of the owners. Big staff and leadership turnover. They are currently trying to get back on their feet. I ended up leaving due to the culture shock.
Original review: I am learning drums and am part of the adult rock band group at School of Rock Norwood. Combining the lesson with the group is a great way to stay motivated. The group is chill and accepting of all of its members. The staff are zany, super smart, and talented. They get you playing, giving just enough theory and exercises to get you good enough to play, mixed with lots of playing real songs from day 1. Thanks for making my day, School of Rock Norwood!

Great school: well run, offering a wide range of music classes, and with excellent teachers
We love the music pops (for infants and toddlers). The teacher is very nice and good at motivating parents and children to sing and dance together. We love the songs. Listening to the songs and singing them in the car with our daughter in the car everyday is such a great fun! We have attended two sessions. Highly recommend this class for parents with infants and/or children aged up to 4!
Enjoying Music Pups, songs are addictive
I have taken all 4 of my children to Music Pups at Powers over the years. We love it! The older kids still sing the songs.
They are not helpful they waste my money didn’t helped me for that i paid whole summer tuition but we couldn’t get more than 2 classes because of their misunderstanding and they did nothing for that !!!!!!!!
I bought a whole session piano class for my niece and then the course was not sufficient so her mom decided to drop but they did not allow for a refund. When she called them to postpone remaining classes for next season they said its okay but asked for extra money from her. Very disappointed. Money is gone without my niece taking any valuable classes!
