My son (12) plays drums, and my daughter (14) plays guitar. We’ve been going to SoR Natick since late February and they are having a great time.
It is expensive, especially with two kids going at the same time, but if you count the 2.5 hours a week of rehearsal time + the .75 hours a week of instruction time it comes out to about $23/hour ($325 a month divided by ~14 hours/month). Granted they are not playing for the full 2.5 hours of rehearsal time, it’s still a good value if you consider music store lessons are $25-$35 for a *half* hour.
The performance program also encourages the kids to practice more often then when they were taking individual lessons. If you value working as a team as a valuable life skill, but your child is not a team sports kind of kid (or maybe you’re not a team sports kind of parent…) SoR is a great program for them to learn work as a team while building a skill they’ll have for life.
How much fun is this! A terrific path towards learning an instrument…. proving the School of Rock is for all ages (I’m 56)…… my son, 10, inspired me…
Total blast.
I have been learning electric guitar here for 2 years best session of my people here are so nice and helpful

Our kids had a blast at School of Rock camp with Mark, Celine, and Hannah. I cannot recommend this method and team enough! our kids had no real music experience and came out of the camp excited to learn more and hone their new skills as music lovers. Thank you!
My son loves the format, can’t recommend this method enough, he’s very engaged and enthusiastic about going to lessons! The owner Mark and his employees are very nice and accommodating to my son and I. We highly recommend School of Rock Burlington!

Excellent place for you musicians. My son loves going … he looks forward to his time there. The staff is great and supportive.
The teachers at School of Rock Wakefield are in a class of their own. They all share the uncanny ability to teach music at a high level, to infuse joy into lessons, and to create life-long musicians. It is not easy to find one teacher like this, let alone a whole music school full of them! We feel very fortunate to have our children in a place that has their values pointed in the right direction.
The teachers are patient and make learning fun. The school puts on great shows. Everyone is friendly. The students have a great time!
Unfair and whilst going I never felt very welcomed

My daughter loves rock music and it is fun to see her following her passion. Being in a band has given her an opportunity to learn about the importance of commitment; how to work as a group; and that each person’s contribution is valuable. She has gained more confidence in herself. She has recently started taking private lessons at Bach 2 Rock with her Rock Band teacher. The one on one time is helping her grow in her instrument.
Kid friendly classes in all instruments with many time choices
My daughter loved this place from the first time. She wanted also do summer camp there. Teachers are very knowledgeable and caring. Front desk helpful and amazing. Totally recommend it
Pakachoag Music School – Worcester

My daughter has taken violin lessons here for seven years, and I could not speak highly enough about our experience at this school. The teachers’ attention to detail, ability to motivate the students, and organization is unbeatable. It’s been amazing to see my daughter thrive here! Highly recommend
The instructors at this music school are top notch! They know their instrument, and more importantly, how to teach kids & teens. Worcester and surrounding towns are fortunate to have this facility. The administration was fantastic in adapting quickly to the pandemic and continuing the lessons. Highly recommend this school if you are looking for any music lessons.
I took lessons here for years and would recommend it to anyone looking for an opportunity to build your musical skill!
My son adored Michael unfortunately the school did not honor all the 3 absences due to covid19 with Dr. Notes after a pretty costly season 2 weeks prior to it being over they told me to purchase a smaller guitar what a joke He cannot even play a note nor read any music Total waste of time And money.
Unfortunately, the Music Together class we did with our toddler was not as good as we hoped. The main issues were they don’t play traditional, recognizable children’s music, there is not enough time with instruments, and we found the teacher bossy. She was particularly so to the parents which did not make it fun. Disappointing experience.

We get to know this wonderful school by attending their storytelling concert at library. I’m impressed by the professional performance, so I register my kid for the Music pups class. Both of us love this class a lot. The teacher Jennifer is awesome. She’s very passionate and knows how to engage everyone in the class. Both of my kid and I enjoyed sing and dance with her in the class. It helped us build a good memory that will last a long time. And I also learned some music that I could sing to my child in the future. I highly recommend this class to anyone that have babies / toddlers.
We love the music pops (for infants and toddlers). The teacher is very nice and good at motivating parents and children to sing and dance together. We love the songs. Listening to the songs and singing them in the car with our daughter in the car everyday is such a great fun! We have attended two sessions. Highly recommend this class for parents with infants and/or children aged up to 4!
Enjoying Music Pups, songs are addictive
I have taken all 4 of my children to Music Pups at Powers over the years. We love it! The older kids still sing the songs.
I Hate it so much
They are not helpful they waste my money didn’t helped me for that i paid whole summer tuition but we couldn’t get more than 2 classes because of their misunderstanding and they did nothing for that !!!!!!!!
I bought a whole session piano class for my niece and then the course was not sufficient so her mom decided to drop but they did not allow for a refund. When she called them to postpone remaining classes for next season they said its okay but asked for extra money from her. Very disappointed. Money is gone without my niece taking any valuable classes!
All Newton Music School Inc

This music school is impressive and clearly focuses on quality music education. They have served the Newton area for many years.
The school AMAZING and the teachers are very nice even when you had issues the people with problems with the school just had a bad experience. I think the school is an amazing place to learn great music.
Hi! I used ANMS for music class last year, 2 weeks of camp last year and for their kindergarten Xylophone School during this past school year. If I had an easy child, I am sure it would have been a good program, but my child is a bit challenging but is sweet, smart and well- behaved.. He did ok with the camp. I found out during xylophone class my child was being disruptive the first half of the year and not participating the 2nd half of the year. What really annoys me is that there was no communication with me the Mom. If a student is having trouble for an extended period of time, the parent should be contacted and a plan created.
I was told, well its only a 45 minute group class and the teacher is busy. Well, that is unacceptable without proper parent communication, expectations could not be set. My 6 year old now has no interest in instrumental music.
Also, during last year’s music class i was called to pick up my child because he could stop crying…Well, turns out he had a small cut near his eye and needed 3 stitches. He was injured by the sharp edge of the whiteboard. Instead of looking at his face, the teacher was annoyed that he was crying.
I ended up asking for a partial refund because it was clear that my son was not prepared for the end of the year performance and he is a lot happier now. They also have a draconian refund policy. I understand that this is a school but they are so money hungry that they are inflexible.
If you have that perfect child, this school may work well for you. If you have a more mature student this may be the school for you. But beware.

My daughter will be going there this year call and so far everything has been professional and on point.
A very great institute for music education in USA.
외관이 예뻐요. 생각보다 작네요
My grandson three weeks before leaving was sent a notice that he had to pay $30,000 before he could come to the school. Had already paid his monies he was told he needed up front. He was crushed and so were we. Why would this not be made clear up front?!
