The instructors at this music school are top notch! They know their instrument, and more importantly, how to teach kids & teens. Worcester and surrounding towns are fortunate to have this facility. The administration was fantastic in adapting quickly to the pandemic and continuing the lessons. Highly recommend this school if you are looking for any music lessons.
I took lessons here for years and would recommend it to anyone looking for an opportunity to build your musical skill!
Pakachoag music school is a fantastic addition to the Worcester’s Music, Art and Culture scene. They have music programs and classes for almost every age starting with infants and toddlers. Everyone member of the faculty staff has incredible credentials and accomplishments. Amazing Music School!
Unfortunately, the Music Together class we did with our toddler was not as good as we hoped. The main issues were they don’t play traditional, recognizable children’s music, there is not enough time with instruments, and we found the teacher bossy. She was particularly so to the parents which did not make it fun. Disappointing experience.
My son adored Michael unfortunately the school did not honor all the 3 absences due to covid19 with Dr. Notes after a pretty costly season 2 weeks prior to it being over they told me to purchase a smaller guitar what a joke He cannot even play a note nor read any music Total waste of time And money.

How much fun is this! A terrific path towards learning an instrument…. proving the School of Rock is for all ages (I’m 56)…… my son, 10, inspired me…
Total blast.
I have been learning electric guitar here for 2 years best session of my people here are so nice and helpful
My son (12) plays drums, and my daughter (14) plays guitar. We’ve been going to SoR Natick since late February and they are having a great time.
It is expensive, especially with two kids going at the same time, but if you count the 2.5 hours a week of rehearsal time + the .75 hours a week of instruction time it comes out to about $23/hour ($325 a month divided by ~14 hours/month). Granted they are not playing for the full 2.5 hours of rehearsal time, it’s still a good value if you consider music store lessons are $25-$35 for a *half* hour.
The performance program also encourages the kids to practice more often then when they were taking individual lessons. If you value working as a team as a valuable life skill, but your child is not a team sports kind of kid (or maybe you’re not a team sports kind of parent…) SoR is a great program for them to learn work as a team while building a skill they’ll have for life.

The School of Rock in Norwood is helping to fulfill an old guitar player’s desire to get back what what was lost decades ago. They listen to what your needs are and are not shy about suggesting different paths to get you where you want to be. I couldn’t be happier with the lessons I’ve received. The enthusiasm and positive reinforcement I get from the instructors will keep me coming back. My retirement years just around the corner will be absolutely epic. So, all you elder players out there that want to dust off your axes, keyboards, drums or whatever – this is the place that can make it happen for you. If we get enough older folks involved we will be able to perform together and show the youngsters out there what started everything they are now working on!!
Connor is the man! Vocal or drum lessons, his approach is fantastic, laid back, but super professional
Started drum lessons and Adult Band one year ago at SOR after a very poor experience with guitar lessons 35 years ago out west. My instructor Dylan is fabulous, helps me to understand drum mechanics and theory while enjoying the learning and practice process, challenged every day. Adult Band has helped me grow so much as a drummer, still learning the big and little things every time I sit down. Our first performance in Providence a few weeks ago was something I had dreamed of doing for a long time, though too scared to even contemplate previously. Will never listen to music the same way again, my life changed by Dylan and everyone at SOR. Thanks so much!
Update Sept 2023: The Norwood School of Rock fell apart in Spring 2023 due to actions of the owners. Big staff and leadership turnover. They are currently trying to get back on their feet. I ended up leaving due to the culture shock.
Original review: I am learning drums and am part of the adult rock band group at School of Rock Norwood. Combining the lesson with the group is a great way to stay motivated. The group is chill and accepting of all of its members. The staff are zany, super smart, and talented. They get you playing, giving just enough theory and exercises to get you good enough to play, mixed with lots of playing real songs from day 1. Thanks for making my day, School of Rock Norwood!

Our kids had a blast at School of Rock camp with Mark, Celine, and Hannah. I cannot recommend this method and team enough! our kids had no real music experience and came out of the camp excited to learn more and hone their new skills as music lovers. Thank you!
My son loves the format, can’t recommend this method enough, he’s very engaged and enthusiastic about going to lessons! The owner Mark and his employees are very nice and accommodating to my son and I. We highly recommend School of Rock Burlington!

Great place, excellent working hours, positive atmosphere, nice helpful staff.
Great physical challenge, first time but won’t bey last. So much fun.
Lead climbing with Adam was a great experience.
The gym is clean, diverse, friendly and knowledgeable. Climbing here is for all ages, and skillsets encluding the beginner and the expert.
Great place. The top roping routes are really well done. One star off because their ratings on the bouldering wall are really inconsistent. 2 routes will both be rated V1 but one will be much, much harder than the other. Other gyms I’ve been to seem to be much more consistent with their bouldering ratings. Also, because it’s a really family friendly place, sometimes there are little kids just running everywhere, running under climbers, etc., and the staff usually don’t say anything to the parents about this. Could use some improvement there.
Big gym with a variety of routes. My only complaint is the condition of the holds. I found that most of the holds on the wall climbs were old and greasy. Hard to climb hard when your feet slip and need to chalk up every ten feet. Might be time to recycle their inventory.
Goodnice place to work out and have fun
Had every intention of going but maybe they’re so popular they have to jack up the prices. I went from asking my friend if they wanted to go rock climbing to, nvm it’s too pricey. $25 and nothing is included….. great gym if you have all your equipment.
Wow. Only these words could come out of my mouth when coming to this place. I have been rock climbing for years now, and the second I stepped into this gym, I was disgraced, insulted and was spoken to extremely rudely. First off, the employee didn’t even want to give me my own equipment because they did not believe I had ever rock climbed before and made it obvious that they felt I was not physically able to. I am in better shape and more physically fit than 85% of the people there. I swear these employees were sexist. Not once, but 3 times was I asked if I knew how to belay and hold somebody, because I am a teenage girl. When I had asked somebody a question later on, I was insulted by the person telling me that they would not help me because it would be “illegal” to answer her question because what I was asking was supposed to be learned in the class, which I did take before. So I was supposed to pay an extra $15 to take a class I already took, just for a simple question that could be answered with a yes or no? Well do you know what should be illegal? Employees discriminating against the fact that I am a teenage girl, and all they did was insult me, and think that I was an incompetent fool. I was even approached by a worker while on the floor asking if I even knew what I was doing. It would be different if they politely asked if you needed help but instead I was talked to rudely and felt unwelcomed. Even the “regulars” who go there are rude. Do not go to the Worcester Gym.

What a fabulous community at the Wakefield SOR, my son calls it his second home. The faculty at Wakefield are professional, touring musicians, who are superb at growing confidence and competence. They offer excellent instruction, and have high standards but are really fun, compassionate individuals. Great role models.
Wonderful staff and teachers all with a passion for music and helping students reach the next level. Kids learn not only how to become better musicians, but more importantly how to work together to put on a show. Very collaborative and supportive environment.
Excellent place for you musicians. My son loves going … he looks forward to his time there. The staff is great and supportive.
Unfair and whilst going I never felt very welcomed

Camp Starfish
Address: 12 Camp Monomonac Rd, Rindge, NH 03461 , Worcester County , Massachusetts , United States
I worked here for two summers and part of a third (but had to leave to start my job in Ohio). This is truly the best place I’ve ever worked in my life and the staff partnership is so rare in how unifying they are. The leadership team seems to always select staff who have experience and are always willing to do what is best for kids. Working here has been some of the best memories of my life and especially the relationships I’ve had with campers and other staff. Because the camp invests in hiring experienced staff and enough of them, kids have a lot of individualized support and are able to work on goals over the course of the summer. However, one of my favorite parts about working here was how involved kids are within their autonomy to make decisions and mindsets based off of their needs and experiences. I’ve taught for many years now and this is the place that has done it best, and consequently, kids almost always have overwhelmingly positive things to say about Starfish too. If you are a parent considering sending your child here, I would of course recommend speaking to staff about your child and get a good understanding of the camp, but I find that Starfish always does its best to adapt to kids and families needs to create the best summer and lifelong experiences.
Absolutely the best therapeutic camp for children with mental health issues! This is our 8th year for my daughter to attend – she looks forward to it ALL year…
Picked up our granddaughter. She loved it! Great staff of young college kids!
Place is rustic nice camping place
I was a camper either 2014 or 2016. This might’ve been good for other kids with more extreme behavioral issues, but I don’t think it’s a good fit for autistic kids. One thing thing autistic people need is structure and control because of anxiety and a fear of the unknown, and for some reason we weren’t allowed to know the day or time. Whenever I asked they refused to tell me. I also wasn’t allowed to keep my own personal hygiene products. At some point I had either an anxiety attack or a meltdown and I knew everything would become more manageable for me if I was able to call my mom, but I was not allowed to. My mom wasn’t even aware of this until I had sent her snail mail. Halfway through the camp I wanted to go home and I was done. I’d recommend Camp Akeela in Vermont for autistic kids/kids with mental disabilities. I had an amazing time there.
Staff were rude
Camp for children with Disabilities. Good camper staff ratio – believe could be 1 to 1. Multiple programs for different ages also. But Long Application and makes Goals for campers – based on Disabilities.
The Drummers’ Studio
Address: 244 E Central St, Franklin, MA 02038 , Worcester County , Massachusetts , United States
Premier chamber music camp in the northeast. Free concerts open to the public every Saturday of July and the first Saturday of August.
Best summer music camp ever, a couple of pros: the house and cabin are beautiful, orchestra is fun, in chamber you are slaying all day, also at lunch ask your private teacher what time your private lesson is at because then you wont be ooOOOOOed at. cons: hutch and mcgregor smell InTeResTinG (when the boys are all gone they are fine), and Schaffhausen is haunted between the hours of 10-11, there is no greenwood.
I had a fantastic time here on a fall retreat with the Harvard Glee Club! This music camp is wonderfully isolated from the rest of the world and instead surrounds you with beautiful greenery. The practice halls are very homely, and the living accommodations are quite decent. Would definitely love to visit again.
this place took nico from me
