Teachers really to motivate kids with lots of positive reinforcement. Really fun learning environment.
We like the freedom that the kids have, to try new instruments . We love that they really can experience what preparing a concert means. Is way more than a classic music school, the lessons are way more than regular music lessons……is the full package of experiences and emotions that play in a music band can give, and kids love it!

Great set of instructors that keep you engaged and excited to continue learning. Learn the songs you love not the songs from some book that nobody really wants to learn. Staff is very nice too. Can’t go wrong

very based 10/10 would recommend the environment is very friendly and encouraging
Amazing team of teachers and owners! They have a unique approach – learn music as a group to understand working together as a group – or a band (with eventual option for private lesson add ons). He always comes out of class happy and feeling supported by the teachers. My son had to pivot because of attention issues. Rather than chastise him and set him up for failure, the staff at School of Rock approached it with positivity and kindness. He is now in private lessons and enjoying it. Thank you School of Rock!
We signed my 3.5 year old up for the Little Wings program and its been a huge hit! He was a little apprehensive for the first class but the teacher and owner are so friendly that he was quickly put at ease and started rocking out in short order. Parents wait in the waiting room but are able to hear the music and you can tell how much fun they are having as they play everything from Raffi to Old Town Road. The format of the classes is a good mix teaching my son to appreciate music and work as part of a larger group as they collaborate in their band.
As for the facilities they are brand new and very conveniently located in West Hartford center with parking readily available. Just park and a short walk up to the second floor. You can tell everyone that works there is passionate about music.
Highly encouraged for anyone looking to expose their kids to music and make them feel like a rock star.

An amazing staff and environment makes learning fun. Super flexible with our busy schedules and very accommodating…love this place!
Love the preschool education program and the access to using all of the studio gear. This is so much more than a “mommy & me” music class, and is a great stepping stone to creating a foundation around learning music!
We have loved our experience at Back to Rock in Ridgefield. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and my son has thrived having an opportunity to sing and learn more about music and performing. I recommend Bach to Rock highly for any families looking to get their kids more exposure music, whether it be singing in glee club or taking instrument lessons or having the opportunity to play in a rock band!

Supportive and warm environment with great teachers!
Great instruction, opportunity to play in a band, make lifelong friends playing music together, family like atmosphere. Highly recommend!
My daughter started with School of rock when she was 7. The staff was extremely welcoming and really helped and encouraged her talent. Being in such a positive environment also helped her self confidence with school and other activities. She now cannot wait to join a band this winter! Highly recommend!!
Our son had been playing drums since the age of 5 at another drum school when he joined SOR at age 7. His playing had gotten better every year, but the SOR added a new level of fun and training for him. He now eats, sleeps and dreams about drums and enjoys every lesson no matter which school he goes to.
My kids have attended School of Rock Farmingdale for well over a year. The staff and manager are always very friendly. I’m a musician myself so I can tell a professional musician from a “weekend warrior.” The musicianship of this staff along with the way they interact with the kids is top notch, you can tell they really enjoy teaching which is something I haven’t experienced at other music schools. I’ve seen great improvement in not only my childrens musical abilities but also their social skills since placing them here. I would totally recommend this place to anyone’s who’s serious about their children learning music the right way.

Judahs Music School has been amazing! My son began in November and the progress he has made in such a short time has been truly remarkable. The instructors expertise and guidance have played a significant role in nurturing his passion for music. Thank you for providing a supportive and inspiring environment that encourages his musical growth. We are looking forward to seeing his journey continue to flourish under the guidance of the Judah Music School.
At 41 years old, I thought it would be almost impossible to learn an instrument, being that I had no experience whatsoever. Judah’s Camp has been a blessing to my life. When you have passion for what you do, it shows. The professionalism, commitment and patience in what you do makes a difference. Very well recommended!!!
This is your sign…DO IT!
Judah’s camp is a Godsend!
It has become a safe haven and the highlight of my weeks.
I’m an adult and decided to commit to the piano (a passion that was on the back burner) so age is no excuse!!!
All of the instructors are HIGHLY knowledgeable, patient and professionals.
Thank you Camp Judah for making me part of the tribe!

Rock House School of Music

Both of my daughters take music lessons from Rockhouse and totally love it!! Love their teachers and love the owners John and Cathy who make us feel like family!! They have learned so much and have improved greatly with the help of this fine music school!!
I started playing the piano and after practicing with much of the patience of my piano teacher, I was able to play some of my favorite songs. Can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presley, How to Save a Life by The Fray, casper film score, All of Me by John Legend, and many of the common songs like kumbaya, jingle bells, etc. it has been such a therapeutic activity every time I go I leave feeling really good. I definitely recommend to come to this place for lessons. 5 stars is an understatement.
If you are looking for any type of music lesson, Rock House is the best place to go!! John and Cathy are the nicest people and the school has amazing instructors. My son takes vocal lessons with Kevin and guitar with Adam and he has made amazing progress. They all truly care for their students and have open mic nights every month so the students can showcase their talents. My son’s band was formed at Rock House and with their help they have gotten gigs and have really become great performers.

Great experience; kid loves it and says SOR day is the favorite day of the week.
SOR has been fantastic for my daughter. She only picked up the guitar a year ago and she already can play so much! She looks forward to every session and lesson. It’s also fun to watch her explore music that I have always been into, to now see her listening to the Stones, Green Day. Etc. It’s really cool! Plus the confidence it has given her. It’s a great program!
Awesome program and highly recommend! Everyone at School of Rock Mamaroneck is friendly, knowledgeable and provides a wonderful learning experience.
School of Rock Cresskill

Professional and well thought out performance programs, great teachers and positive attitude! Great place for musicians!
Music is a gift. Playing an instrument and song are an expression of that gift. If you have ever dreamed about playing even a note of music, you owe it to yourself to take a lesson from others who have followed that dream. You have everything to gain.
Whether or not your child has natural talent for playing instruments or singing, will not matter here at the School of Rock Cresskill. The instructors and directors are 100% committed to your child’s music education , They truly care ,and continuously motivate your child to be able to work independently and in a group environment. One amazing thing i noticed is that kids who are passionate about music and their instruments,( no matter which one that may be), bond differenrly than they do with other friends! They form a deeper connection. My daughter has found that here at the School of Rock Cresskill
They keep charging over $300 every month even though we stopped attending months ago. I called them and they’re saying it’s ‘policy’ and they can give ‘future credit’, no refund.

Our son has been at SOR Orangeburg for over 6 years now, and it’s such a huge part of his life. Now, as part of the “House Band,” he and his bandmates absolutely shred. The owner, Don, and his staff are amazing instructors, coaches, and mentors. I wish SOR was around when I was a kid… I would have had a much more rich and fulfilling music experience than what is offered at public schools.
My teenager loves their drum lessons weekly with Dante!
We love SoR! The staff are not only very talented musicians but they are very kind and patient. A very cool vibe as soon as you walk in.
I like how the instructors connect with the students. I also like how the students are encouraged to try different things and putting them out of their comfort zone.
Overall an outstanding show. The only suggestion I have for next time is to have a set-list for parents, that includes which kids are playing which songs, so we know when our kids will be on stage. That way we can make room for other parents when our kids are not performing. Otherwise a really great afternoon! Thank you.
School of Rock

My son, Donovan, began teaching himself piano during the summer when he was 11 – when seeking out lessons for him, we found the White Plains School of Rock. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated Donovan as if he were already part of the school. The instructors spoke directly to him and inquired about his interests. From that moment on, we have been an active part of the White Plains School of Rock community. I can’t thank this amazing place enough times, over the past 18 months, they have kept children *safely* singing, joyous and rocking through the pandemic. Our son, who does both vocal and keyboard lessons – has been in extremely diverse themed bands – Motown, Reggae, London Punk Rock and currently Lollapalooza themed. The school not only invests in developing these young humans as musicians, but provides historical context for the music encouraging them to continue to learn and become curious about doing their own research. It is an amazingly supportive community. I would recommend it to any child (or adult) who has a love of music and performance.
Everyone At SOR is very professional and the talent you draw to your faculty is impressive. As a fellow Berklee grad and musician/instructor/author, I am very happy our daughter is with Kris. He is clearly a solid musician and is very, very good with her, especially boosting her confidence. The lessons are productive, which is evident in her playing. We thank him for sharing his talent and for his patience. Joe is also immensely talented and wonderful with the kids, and we thank him too. In fact, it is clear you are all very patient and positive with each student. We are so happy with how the program is run, that you guys just get them playing and get them on stage within 3 months. Our daughter has gone from strumming chords to playing leads all in one year. And although she hasn’t yet jumped at the opportunity, we really like that you encourage them to try everything. Vox, other instruments…. the fact that you embrace that kind of well roundedness from the beginning is huge. You guys are a great group. It is evident how much you communicate with and like each other. Also, your communication with us (parents) is top notch. Very little can go wrong if we just read our emails 🙂 The best part?? The kids LOVE it there. And the best part for us?? The shows!! Best days of the year. No joke. Thank you for everything.
Camp Awosting
Address: 296 West St, Morris, CT 06763 , Woodbury , Connecticut , United States
This camp has been without a doubt the best experience of my life and I could speak for many other counsellors and campers who would say the same thing. If you could bottle everything good about childhood and pour it into one place, this is that place. It lets boys be who they wanna be and they, along with the counsellors, grow every single day. A place where people are open, fun, passionate and creative.. my three years working at Awosting have been phenomenal and I’m hoping to be here for many more. My advice to people looking to work here.. take the jump you will never regret it. My advice to parents who are thinking about sending their kids here.. your boys will have the best time ever.
My son had a wonderful time last summer and cannot wait to return this year. He has the fondest memories from camp, and keeps in touch with his friends. Communicating with him while he was there was easy with the app, and photos were posted frequently. Highly recommend!
I booked out Camp Awosting for an overnight retreat for a group of 100 girls from my university. The entire experience was very positive, Nick, along with the rest of the camp staff were incredibly attentive and helped us with our every need. Our group got the opportunity to drive go karts, do high ropes, zip line, and more. They also built us a camp fire and cooked food for our group. We had the best time at Camp Awosting and would not hesitate to come back here for next years retreat. Thank you again to Nick and the rest of the staff!
My boys attended the camp for 2 weeks, they came back home HAPPY, they enjoyed so much their time there!! I. They bonded immediately with their cabin counselors and new friends.
We got the international package, for their flight back home. So the camp staff camp drove my boys to the airport and took really good care of them and stayed with them the whole time until they boarded the plane.
I’m giving 4 stars, only because the bed linens they rented us although clean were a little bit old and worn.
In general it was a great experience for our boys!
Great camp with tons of fun activities for the campers!
My cousin stayed here in high school and it seemed like a fun place to spend a couple weeks in the summer.
Worst camp ever
It’s a shame to have a beautiful place and years of experience, but they don’t have the human qualities to treat people, especially those who go to work for their business, which is a camp. They need more security and less racism.
My son attended Awosting this summer. He had a terrible experience.
First, my son, 10 yrs old. This was his first time away at camp. On the third day, a counselor called to check in with us on how he was doing, however, everything he said sounded scripted. That my son wasn’t eating, and preferred to spend free time alone in the cabin, but that he was “participating and having fun”. No doubt they say that to every parent. My son, however, told us in letters and upon returning home that he did not, in fact, have fun. He was bullied by his cabinmates the entire time he was there and made no friends. Pictures that got posted of campers seem to corroborate this – he is alone and/or frowning in every picture. The image below is of a letter he sent us that we didn’t receive until after he returned home. It is heartbreaking to think that we sent our child to a camp for two weeks were he spent the time being bullied by others and no action was taken. Will never go back.
