The Ridgefield staff is not only talented, but super kind, courteous, and patient with the kids (and their families). My daughter just completed her first season of guitar lessons and participating in the group show (Talking Heads vs. The Cars) and she loved it. It helped build her skills and confidence, as she is a naturally shy kid. A lot of great first experiences with School of Rock and we look forward to many more seasons (and cool dog tags 🙂
Enrolling our daughter in School of Rock Ridgefield was the best thing we could have done for her musically. From day one her instructors have helped her get better and better. I highly recommend SOR Ridgefield to anyone who wants their child(ren) to learn in a supportive and challenging environment.
School of Rock Ridgefield is amazing. We’re consistently impressed by the program! The instructors do a wonderful job at creating a supportive environment and they foster a love of music in their students. They encourage the students to step outside of their comfort zone and make the process so much fun. The lessons and band practices are offered at a wide variety of days/times so you can always make it work with a busy schedule. Overall, we’ve had such a positive experience and are beyond impressed with our child’s growth since starting at School of Rock Ridgefield.

We joined the School of Rock a couple months ago and have had such a wonderful experience! The entire staff is friendly and my son loves his teacher. I especially love the monthly showcases that give the parents a chance to hear what the kids have been working on. My son looks forward to class each week and has been enjoying learning the drums and guitar.

We have had such an amazing experience at School of Rock East Hartford! Our son has played guitar for 8 years with other great instruction, but after the shift here he has truly become a rock star. Not only has he grown tremendously with his skill, but he has also learned how to play the Bass guitar and he’s had many chances to sing. The skilled and talented instructors make difficult songs manageable and fun. The band experience is unparalleled. Where else will a music student play well known music with a band every week, while preparing for a live show? The show experience is an authentic rock and roll event with the stage, lights, and giant speakers. The school offers different genres of music each season, with enough choices to satisfy any music enthusiast.
The school offers opportunities for the earliest beginners in music to the advanced. They even have an adult band!
School of Rock gives a free lesson to any potential student, so don’t hesitate to check them out.

Another parent highly recommended the School of Rock for my musical 15-year-old. We have only been at the School of Rock West Hartford for 1 season, and it has been an amazing experience – we are looking forward to the concert for each band to showcase all their hard work and talent! My son is not a die-hard sports kid (although he has been on several teams at school); he really loves music, plays piano and sax.
Being in a band takes the band members to a new level in their musical development/performance…it provides experience working in a “team” environment, offers opportunities for introverted kids to step outside their comfort zone with peers who possess similar interests and form new friendships, and helps band members gain confidence and self-esteem.
The School of Rock West Hartford is conveniently located a few minutes off I-84 next to Blue Back Square and has free parking at the facility.
Upon entering School of Rock, you can hear the band practicing, the energy of the staff is very positive, and the band members sound like they are having a great time together in the student waiting room. My son loves the passion and encouragement of all his instructors, who make the private lesson as well as the band practice a fun, engaging, educational and enriching experience every time. The band members encourage each other also. Through the instructors own musical training as well as the School of Rock performance methodology, they quickly learn their band member/students’ strengths and areas for opportunity and make them feel like they are an important part of the band. I love how the instructors make each band member feel like a real rock star.

The staff is phenomenal with kids. They make sure every kid is comfortable and move at their pace. My 6 year old son does private guitar lessons and also does the rookies class with my 4 year old daughter who is interested in drums. It’s only been a month and I love listening to both kids talk about what they’ve learned. Their love for making music has grown tremendously. I drive 45 minutes every week just to go to the School of Rock and it’s definitely worth it!
We’ve had an excellent experience with this new location of the reputable School of Rock franchise. During COVID, we were very pleased with the quality of the remote instruction and the follow up from Scott and team. An added bonus is that they will be conveniently situated in Blue Back Square!

I was looking for a school to send my 10 year old daughter who loves acting, singing and dancing and was lucky to find New Haven Academy of Performing Arts! She has been involved for only a few weeks now and absolutely loves it! My daughter is working with Stephani and Mr. Neil and cannot say enough great things about them. It makes me so happy to hear all of the great things that she tells our family and friends about NHAPA.
Yesterday my daughter participated in the Halloween Spooktacular which was an incredible event. It was thoughtful, creative, fun, interactive and so much more than other productions that my daughter has participated in with other organizations. My husband and I were actually surprised, in a very good way, and we highly recommend NHAPA.
If Billy, Stephani or Mr. Neil read this please know that our family gives each of you 5 stars as well. Thank you for a job well done.

Staff is the best they are like family
New Haven Academy of Performing Arts is a home away from home for me, and my three children. We’ve been students here, together, for about a year and a half. To watch my children gain so much confidence and become better versions of themselves, has been an awe inspiring experience. This community, family really, that we are a part of is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before! The staff at NHAOPA have created an extremely positive learning environment that focuses on developing well rounded performers, young and old – trust me on this one ;). Our love for NHAOPA is without end and we are so proud to be a part of it!
