Cool school, amazing staff, my son really likes it….. I strongly recommend it!!
Brandy is a total rockstar. She always goes the extra mile for her students and is so caring and approachable. The approach she takes for music education is fantastic. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful place for kids to start in music. And importantly, provide them a chance to play with other kids.
Instructors and staff are excellent. Good environment

My 4 year old and 8 year old have been taking the group lessons for almost a year now and they love it. They have both learned more music theory than I expected (especially my 4 year old!) and they get to try various instruments to see what they like. My 8 year old daughter started taking keyboard lessons with Ashley during the summer in addition to her group lesson and she loves it! I wanted an environment where she could really learn the piano but not feel pressure to practice nonstop and have to play classical pieces that didn’t interest her, and School of Rock is really perfect for what we were looking for. My daughter has progressed so much and gets to play songs that she enjoys coming home to practice! The staff here is so nice and welcoming.
My son did a free trial class and loved it, so we enrolled. Happy to have this as an option right in town!
Fantastic place for kids to learn an instrument in a fun environment. The teachers and staff are all excellent and excited to work with kids. They love music but they love kids too. We’ve been to other School of Rock locations and Barrington has been our best experience. I wouldn’t have my son go anywhere else. High quality of lessons, performance experience, and overall atmosphere.
This school is only for approved white rich people. Horrible experience with the instructors playing favorites. If I could give zero stars I would. All of these five star ratings are from the parents that have been given preferential treatment. Don’t waste your time, and YOUR MONEY if you’re a hardworking middle class family in this school.
Not really impressed with this school. We went for a trial lesson with every intention of signing up for regular classes. The instructor really had nothing to say to me after my son’s class. I had to approach him myself as he was walking away and still he barely said a thing after I inquired about how everything went. Say something man. Anything. The front desk attendant educated me more than the actual teacher. Just left w a bleh feeling. Not signing up.

Great place to learn to get your groove on! The elmhurst location is a well oiled music making machine.
10/10 would recomend bery cool indeed
Teachers and staff are wonderful! Everyone at SoR is enthusiastic about inspiring students to learn about and love music. Rock on!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it here. My daughter won’t stop talking about it. Great space, everyone is friendly and I love the vibe.
Wish a few teachers had a little more training in controlling kids. Some kids like to take control of the class and a couple teachers are too gentle in calling them. It effects class time for others.
Very unprofessional.

My 10 yr old son has been taking drum lessons at SOR for about a year. He loves this place. He also did the summer camp and says it’s his favorite camp ever. He came home from 6 hrs of camp and practiced for 3 more hours. I’ve never seen this dedicated before. The instructors “get” him and know how to get thru to him. The confidence that he has gained from performing on a real stage in front of a real crowd has been incredible. Each show he enjoys it more and more. I have nothing but good things to say about his experience here!
My kid loved camp! I think he felt respected and that gave him confidence. He really liked the feeling of having freedom of down time to practice or just sit and talk with friends. He really liked everyone who worked with him during the week and said that they treated him like “an equal”. The final show was amazing and it was obvious the level of instruction was professional. Loved it so much!
Great communication and system, very well run. Excellent culture of respect, responsibility and hard work.

Instructors are very flexible with lessons including schedules and content. Instructors are very knowledgeable in course content. All the staff are friendly and outgoing. They enhance the experience.
My daughter has been a student at School of Rock for about two years now. She came in only knowing a little bit about guitar. Her instructor, Nate has been phenomenal with her. Two years later, she has advanced to the performance band, which is a huge deal! And they go all out for these students, setting up for them to perform on stages at local venues, letting them feel like real rock stars! Due to Covid, this seasons performance has changed, but they are still doing what they can to help the students feel like true performers! I have nothing but good things to say about everyone at School of Rock!
It’s an amazing place for kids so they can be heard when they have an artist in them!
Summer Camp is so much fun for my guitarist! It brings out the little rockstar in her. I love the energy of the teachers and how they inspire the kids to do their best! I would give it 5 out of 5 stars, but the cost is high for lessons and camp.

My daughter loves the zoom voice lessons and her in person band practices.
So many talented children… Bravoo boys & girls you Rock!!!
I absolutely love the vibes here, give you a sense of home and comfort. the staff are patient, kind, sweet and knowledgeable. this school reminded me of my home school back in Austin Texas, would highly recommend taking your kid with talent to become a great musician here!
My son had an awesome time at School of Rock today.
Love School of Rock! The approach of mixing individual lessons with a band of peers and actual performances is perfect for learning and staying motivated. The instructors are great, and the bands have a chance to play venues all over the area. We have been with the school since they opened a few years ago. Our son has moved from guitar and bass to drums, and had a great experience with each instrument. The staff is responsive and friendly, the kids have developed real friendships, and they are playing great music (no hot cross buns played on repeat at this school).
Kind and informative. But not very professional on the phone.

My son loves being in the Rock 101 band and his private lesson teacher for the keyboard. School of Rock does a great job of keeping the kids interested in learning music and being in a band keeps him motivated to practice the songs without me nagging! This is our third season with School of Rock and so far it’s been great.
Our son has had a really great time learning music here. The staff is wonderful and we are pleased we signed him up here!
My son absolutely loves his instructor and the experience to play in a band. He said it’s great to find kids who are just like him – love to talk all things guitar and just JAM!
They do an excellent job trying to ensure the student experience is a positive and rich one. My daughter loves her instructor.
listened at the show at the library, very good.

Our son has been taking drum lessons at SOR for the past two years. The instructors are great and they create a productive and fun learning environment for the kids. Highly recommend them.
The staff and the shows are great! The kids make friends and learn to get on stage and they build confidence!
We have had a wonderful experience at School of Rock! Our children have grown as musicians and performers. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

My son, Liam, has been at SOR Evanston for many years (drums, guitar and bass) and has greatly developed his musical and stage presence skills. The performance series shows are particularly entertaining! Since Liam is graduating HS in May, it will be sad to leave SOR but we’re all so grateful for the positive experience and friendships made along the way. Well done SOR Evanston!
Love this place!!
School of Rock has drastically changed my outlook on music and team work. You realize just how much fun it is playing in a group or in front of an audience, and not just in your bedroom. I’m so glad I signed up for vocal lessons, and so glad I got the teacher I did. Everyone here is extremely friendly, and it really feels like a family. I would recommend School of Rock to any musician, aspiring or even professional, purely for the fact that this place makes my day and makes me a better musician.
The instructors seem competent and my son enjoys the lessons. I just wish it was easier communicating with the staff. Due to the late-ish hours the business runs, getting an actual person on the phone is potluck. Email sometimes gets an answer within a couple of hours, other times it seems that days go by before someone responds. Their overall attitude is laid-back, which is fine, I suppose, and in keeping with the SOR “way”. I just think they could be a bit more professional and efficient insofar as the customer service is concerned.
If you are thinking about taking lessons or signing your child up for lessons, you should seriously reconsider this location. Find a corporate location that has the proper resources. This place is overall NOT functional and failing.

Awesome place to learn and better yourself as a musician! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and great at inspiring the students to learn music! The School of Rock method is streamlined through professional means to keep that consistency with the successful franchise. The location is very clean, easy to navigate, decor is elevated all around and COVID-19 precautions were in place when it was needed most, still optionable I believe at request. Learning music can inspire confidence for somebody of any age, it’s invaluable and although it could be very tough to learn instruments it can be very fufilling, very good for the brain as well! I myself have taken lessons in the past from private teachers all the way through college level classes and having the system in place is highly effective, curtailed to modern technology like apps. Pricing is reasonable, the skills for life are worth unpinching any penny. What would I change? Perhaps building a small stage to lift drums off floor in band rooms, T.V in the back lobby, more soundproofing including foam, diffusion and although this is more of a franchise suggestion, adding music studio/production/recording elements to the mix! Also, more raises for the drum teachers!! Great location!

Staff is great and really know how to keep kids excited about learning and playing music.
We love everything about this place. Both our boys are students. And we love our School of Rock Chicago West community.
They get the kids playing real songs at real shows in real venues very quickly, which is a great way to learn music and build confidence.
Private lessons help build technique, and ensemble classes teach cooperation, responsibility, and showmanship. And it’s all done in a fun, mutually supportive atmosphere.
The staff are very kind, accommodating, and welcoming. And it’s just so much fun to see young musicians grow in ability and confidence.
Send your aspiring musician here!
Great place to learn how to really enjoy and play great music.

I went to a basketball game got in paid after half so the ticket era didn’t have what they needed to mark my hand but when I tried to go in the court I was stopped and not given a refund. They then preceded to let in ten unmarked Dunlap high schoolers and refused to answer why I was not let in and they were. I would give a zero if at all possible

Was really good instructor was patient and no pressure at all will go back.
Just started and i already love it!
This place is great! My daughter took an intro lesson to see what she thought. Being a teen she was nervous at first and hesitant to go. Came out of the building happy and excited. She loves her instructor and what’s she is learning. She would go every day if possible. They are professional, warm, fun, and friendly. My child loves this place!
They have a cool program where you can do lessons on your instrument or voice. And then, if you choose to you can join a band also which meets there weekly. You get to decide what level you sign up for. It’s been a huge hit with my kiddo! Wish I had signed my older child up years ago.
They offer a really great program and we are so happy a friend turned us on to it!
No one asked for this review- we are just that happy about it.
So I took my son for a trial run with a group of kids at this school last week on a Monday at the Madison Rd location, which he was so excited about, so he went in with (i forget her name..jenny?) and he was just excited about all the instruments, it was only him and another boy. I guess my son was too much for her because she said that he was not really focused on just one instrument and kind of all over the place and recommend Music Therapy because she is a music therapist and that an hour was too much for him, ( I was kind of shock and a little hurt that I didn’t even ask her any other questions, but said ok and left) but she didn’t recommend her services for a personal session or anything, so my husband called the next day and asked about the lady (the music therapist) that did the trial run with Aaron if she can call him back and recommend her services or if she has a referral. its been a little over a week and she has not returned his call. I also did tell them in the beginning he has a vision impairment) I just wish someone would of reached out and recommended something because my son loves music and he is not a bad kid.

Quick efficent and amazing staff!! I go twice a week!
Great place to male ends meet. Use me as a reference and get a bonus
Come see Tiffany n shay n the res of the crew cool people to be around
For the most part some of the employees are nice. I hate the card system they have for the fact that you have to pay money to get the money you just got paid. Only other bad thing I’ve experienced is they will make u leave the building in a storm if they lose power regardless if u have a vehicle or not.
Depending how long have to wait for
I definitely liked this place at first, but by the time I left I was truly aggravated. Talecris is generally a clean place with safe procedures and nice workers. Being as it was my first time there, I was a new donor, so the procedure and everything else took longer than it normally would, approximately 2 or so hours. They only use equipment that comes out of new packages, nothing is reused. My visit started off fine but ended on a bad note. By the time all the testing was done with, I was actually excited to donate plasma. Except one problem: I failed at being able to donate plasma. My sister came as well and neither of us ended up donating. The new donor procedure was all responsibly handled and we both were going through registration fine and the physical stuff. But then her protein was too low so they sent her out, and me? Apparently I don’t have veins! It took two hours for me at least to get everything done and then I went to the room to actually go donate plasma… that’s where it got hairy.
The “phlebotomists” in the room all seemed so unprofessional and oblivious to their jobs, at least that is the idea they put off for me to pick up. Three people who are supposedly certified to do this job couldn’t find my veins. The first guy was nice, took forever, but literally while putting a pressure cuff on me, says, “I’m not good at this”. First off, then why do you work here, and secondly, how does that make me feel better about you sticking me with a needle, or anything else that you’re supposed to be able to do at this job if you can’t correctly put on a pressure cuff. He seemed new, so many that was it, but he attempted to find my vein for a minute, couldn’t, and then said he would grab someone else. That lady tried, couldn’t find my vein, called another lady over who also couldn’t find my vein, and then the first one says to the second lady, literally TWO feet away from me, “should we stick her with the needle so she gets paid” mumbled things about them not doing vein checks, had no idea what to say to me… then turned around and then just told me to go home basically. Didn’t grab anyone else, didn’t try more than 5 minutes. Just said go home. She told me to go to the front desk and tell them they couldn’t find my vein… I did, and the only person up there was the second lady that also couldn’t find my vein, to which she responded: “Uhhh… no, you don’t need to tell me. You can just leave. Sorry.” Like… okay so should I even attempt to come back or if I do will I just get a fast one pulled on me? I had an appointment scheduled but I don’t even think I want to go. After all, if they aren’t going to try harder or more than a few minutes after I spent my whole morning there, I don’t see the point. Yes it is for a good cause, I have a friend who regularly needs plasma for medical reasons, so I felt I could help out and it would feel nice and I’d get compensated while doing something good, but how do I donate when the employees try only to the bare minimum? I’m still annoyed with the whole situation and my entire morning was wasted.
They were so rude to me. Right when I walked in they said no because they claimed I had bags under my eyes and they’ve never smelled anyone as bad as me they said I smelled worse then Jessie who ever the hell he his ?!!!!????!!!!!
You sit there waiting while employees talk about going clubbing the next day or the day after but you sit there and wait. Then when you ask for assistance they get an attitude sometimes even cursing. They also have bad phone etiquette while talking to customers on the phone seems like they don’t want to answer the phone sometimes they don’t.
