The staff create a friendly, welcoming environment. The instructors do a great job of building musical skills while keeping frustration at bay. It’s a fun place to come to, and I know my daughter thoroughly enjoys her time while here! Long live the School of Rock! \m/
Love this place!!!!! Raz is the man!!!!
Awesome!
Great staff great location great music
Kelly who “runs” the school is absolutely awful. She is unprofessional, combative, lacks follow-up skills, lacks customer service skills, and is incredibly rude and unable to resolve conflict. I would never send my child to a place that is run by a person like Kelly. That said, I pulled my child out of the summer camp.

Teachers are great lots of rooms for all different music enthusiasts
I like that it is a self paced program and that we learn what we want to learn after we learn the basics of how to read music and how to play it. I have been taking lessons for almost 6 years with them and even the directors of the locations teach showing commitment to the students above the business. All thanks to the supportive environment of the School of Rock, I have started writing my own music and hope to release it to audiences across the world in order to make a change along with donating to music education around the Earth.
Great Place, Awsome Management and the best instructors.

Fantastic program, awesome opportunities, fantastic staff and management. This school rocks!
Great place with loads of stores to explore. Good restaurants to visit, a large selection and mostly all of them are reasonably priced and good quality.

My daughter loves School of Rock in Briarcliff and is so excited to be a Rockstar at her 1st Concert in January! The staff and owner are really top notch and so great with the kids. Highly recommend going to this school if you are local for music lessons.
My daughter has learned so much and is very happy. Music is incredibly powerful in so many ways. She has been able to channel her anxiety into the passion of her guitar playing and performing in a magical way. She is very particular in choosing who she wants to teach her, and the School of Rock has succeeded in her expectations. In a short period of time she had made best friendships with her fellow student musicians who are now her band mates. She enjoys the staff and her band mates very much. Highly recommend.
This is great! I’m honestly having a blast in the adult band, under all of your encouragement and guidance! Brushing off guitar cobwebs, vibrating the ol’ pipes and learning something new every time. Doesn’t get any better for me. So great. I forgot how much fun and joy the music brings to my soul. Thank you!!

My 11-year old switched from a conservatory program to School of Rock and we couldn’t be happier with the transition. His love of music was waning and now he’s motivated to practice – for himself and his bandmates – and his musicality has hit new heights. Thank you Jeremy and Rachel for keeping music alive in the hearts of all our kids!
Best money ever paid! My daughters vocals have improved a lot in the past few months she’s been attending. Instructors are very professional. I must say is a safe and great environment for young kids who wants to rock!
The team at Hoboken SOR Rock! It’s amazing to look back just a year to see how our kids have developed as musicians since joining SOR. They are passionate about how they play and what they play. This is credit to the care and commitment Jeremy and Rachel put into each their students. They have developed a wonderful community of young musicians who deliver amazing results! Thanks SOR Hoboken.
No no no no no!
We live in 770 Jackson Street and the school of rock just held a 6+ hours of a rock concert outside our building
Our kids couldn’t sleep and we were going crazy with the noise!!
I will NEVER enroll any of my kids to a place that is so inconsiderate of it’s neighbors
Hummingbird Music Camp

Went in the 8o’s as a kid and loved it. It hasn’t changed and it is still magical
I love the musical experience my children have gained from this sweet place.
All throughout my camper years this place was amazing, then I became a counselor, and to say the least it was barbaric what the punishments were( being dosed in flour and water, having to run with rocks above our heads, spit in water, ext.) I love the camp and the people with it, but some of the head counselors were less then stellar, even the owners grandchild inflicted most of these punishments. I don’t want this camp to get into any trouble but I also don’t want TEENAGERS to be treated like this. Many of us lived in fear for two weeks of messing up and getting punished.
Very well run location and very friendly owner!
don’t delete negative reviews
This camp doesn’t take racism seriously. A beautiful black girl was told by a white boy camper to go back to the confederacy where she belongs. The boy gets to stay anyway with no consequences because he worked so hard all week. Complete foolishness! Don’t send your kids here. The people in charge of kids are a joke. The girl’s parents were not even contacted about the incident. I guess if the boy punched the girl in the face, it would be swept under the rug as well until she gets home and all hell breaks loose after her parents see her face. Stay clear of Hummingbird Music Camp in Jemez! Kids deserve better!
Before sending you kids here, just do a quick google for “Elliott Higgins Hummingbird”

The School of Rock (SOR) Annapolis is an outstanding addition to the arts in the in the arts-rich Annapolis area. It is hard to believe how fast children develope and/or improve their talent(s) regardless of age. I have witnessed this incredible musical talent development in my own grandson, who is registered at the SOR Annapolis, as well on many, many other children there, in Baltimore and other parts of the country. I and my family love the School of Rock Annapolis. I have many videos on YouTube of my grandson and many SOR Annapolis students displaying their talents in the Annapolis area and elsewhere at different outdoor and indoor venues The joy the families feel watching the development of their children’s in music is unforgettable and a great occassion for a for a few, or a lot of joyful tears. All the instructors at the school are professional musicians.

My daughter absolutely loves all the programs that are offered by School of Rock. Her instructor for private lessons, Ed, is so talented and works so well with her. All of the instructors that she has had for the group sessions and summer programs have been phenomenal as well. She gets so excited to go to “class”. Her love for music has continued to flourish. The company’s ability to adjust to the COVID shutdown and offer virtual private, group, and master classes has concreted my belief in this institution. Worth every penny!
As a parent of four musically inclined children, I can say without a doubt that the School of Rock experience is fantastic! We have lived all over the world and we have yet to find another program that challenges its students through not only music, but performances. It builds a camaraderie amongst the students that emphasizes the creation of music as a holistic product instead of a the sum of parts you get through traditional lessons. The team building, as well as the quality of the teachers, is a combo that can’t be beat. Highly recommended!
Hayley the Keys instructor was great. We did our free trial with her and my 9 year old daughter had a great experience. So we signed up for the program.
At 9 she was placed in Rock 101. The kids were mostly younger than her, and it usually felt like glorified babysitting vs becoming a better musician.
Huge communication disconnect re:homework/expectations between the private lesson, Rock 101 and the School of Rock app causing tears that could be avoided and much frustration for parents!
We also tried one of the summer camps, signed up both kids. The fees included “Recording: campers will record their songs with camp directors so that they can share with family and friends!”.
This was not so! I emailed to follow up to receive this keepsake of their song writing, and the school did not have a file to share.

SOR in Chatham is an incredibly run program by art and Jamie and team that will have a life long impact on your child. Awesome school and great (and patient) instructors for all levels of talent.
We love the actual performing opportunity School of Rock Chatham has given our son over the last 8 years. The private instructors and directors of the shows are totally committed and outstanding. They are serious about the kids being properly prepared to get on stage and rock out. They have fun but there is no silliness or horseplay when the perform. They are expected to be their best always. We also love that the older kids set a great example for the younger ones. We’ve watched our son flourish from 10 years old to 18 without missing a beat! Thank you to everyone at School of Rock Chatham!
Great place to learn or mastering your musical talent!

My son loves the format, can’t recommend this method enough, he’s very engaged and enthusiastic about going to lessons! The owner Mark and his employees are very nice and accommodating to my son and I. We highly recommend School of Rock Burlington!
Our kids had a blast at School of Rock camp with Mark, Celine, and Hannah. I cannot recommend this method and team enough! our kids had no real music experience and came out of the camp excited to learn more and hone their new skills as music lovers. Thank you!

My son really enjoyed this experience. Teachers are wonderful and friendly. I am thinking in signing him again for classes and camp.
Amazing staff, amazing music programs and on-on-one lessons! So far I’ve worked with Mike, Frankie, and David – every single lesson and rehearsal has been fantastic. The instructors have been very patient with me as I am brand new at guitar, yet they have worked at keeping my lessons fun and challenging. Annie is also a superb manager, and always makes me feel welcome and is prompt to answer any questions I have. For anyone looking to learn or expand their musical horizons, look no further. If I could give this place more stars, I would.
Hi guys ! Please save your money and time and do
NOT go to this place . My daughter had an appointment and my mother in law took my daughter showed them the confirmation email with the time and date that they sent . The staff stated that the appointment time was wrong , even though it came from them . I reluctantly reschedule my appointment and they sent an email and again this happens . Just please don’t go here staff is very unprofessional . I would give no stars if I could .
First let me start off by saying, the teachers at Columbia SOR are amazing and my daughter had such an amazing time in vocal classes with Gideon & Zack and Keys classes with Alex and Colin. And we really, really wanted it to work out but the administration at this branch of SOR was absolutely abysmal. The pervasive disorganization, cancelled lessons (sometimes on the same day), constantly shifting schedules, inconsistencies in which teacher we would have from week to week overshadowed whatever benefit my daughter was getting from the highly professional teachers at Columbia SOR. It made us very sad to leave the school because my daughter really made a connection with and loved working with her teachers and we really tried to put up with the mismanagement at the Columbia SOR. But ultimately the mismanagement was too much to bear. If Columbia SOR gets their act together, it could be a great place to learn music. However, at this time, I would not recommend spending your money there, which is a shame because the teachers really are great.
My experience is with Siohban Beckett. She inserted herself into a situation at work, based on a rumor from her friend and her own personal prejudice, that started an investigation. When nothing was found, she escalated the rumors, sending messages to her friends on social media, with the full intent of having someone fired. Based on the screenshots of her messages, Siohban Beckett’s own credibility was damaged. She left after one performance night.

This place is great! My daughter took an intro lesson to see what she thought. Being a teen she was nervous at first and hesitant to go. Came out of the building happy and excited. She loves her instructor and what’s she is learning. She would go every day if possible. They are professional, warm, fun, and friendly. My child loves this place!
They have a cool program where you can do lessons on your instrument or voice. And then, if you choose to you can join a band also which meets there weekly. You get to decide what level you sign up for. It’s been a huge hit with my kiddo! Wish I had signed my older child up years ago.
They offer a really great program and we are so happy a friend turned us on to it!
No one asked for this review- we are just that happy about it.
Was really good instructor was patient and no pressure at all will go back.
Just started and i already love it!
So I took my son for a trial run with a group of kids at this school last week on a Monday at the Madison Rd location, which he was so excited about, so he went in with (i forget her name..jenny?) and he was just excited about all the instruments, it was only him and another boy. I guess my son was too much for her because she said that he was not really focused on just one instrument and kind of all over the place and recommend Music Therapy because she is a music therapist and that an hour was too much for him, ( I was kind of shock and a little hurt that I didn’t even ask her any other questions, but said ok and left) but she didn’t recommend her services for a personal session or anything, so my husband called the next day and asked about the lady (the music therapist) that did the trial run with Aaron if she can call him back and recommend her services or if she has a referral. its been a little over a week and she has not returned his call. I also did tell them in the beginning he has a vision impairment) I just wish someone would of reached out and recommended something because my son loves music and he is not a bad kid.

My son has been a student at School of Rock East Brunswick for over 2 years now. He takes lessons on the drums and bass, as well as participates in the performance and house band programs.
We are very happy at the school. they foster love of all kinds of music, and a culture of striving to be your best, while encouraging each childs individuality. The teachers are professional and knowledgeable.
I disagree with the previous review, as I have always found the make up policies for the lessons to be fair and flexible. We have never lost a lesson fee because the school was unable to accommodate a reschedule.
I have also found the owners responsible and honest. A great place for kids and teens to grown in their musical passions. Not all Schools of Rock are created equal, and I highly recommend the SOR East Brunswick.
The School of Rock Camp is unique. My son was able to be a part of a rock band with other children who enjoy music like he does. He was able to play the electric guitar for the first time and loved it. At the end of the week of camp, they performed for us, and it was amazing to see all that the kids learned in a week. My son really had a blast and looks forward to going again next summer.
Fantastic experience!! Our son has been there for 4 1/2 years- taking guitar lessons and also getting to perform at some amazing venues. The teachers, staff, students and families are wonderful and supportive. Highly recommend the school!!
Great place to get young kids exposed to music and instruments.
The most unprofessional owner who defames other local business’ and will argue with parents. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The instructors are fabolous and great with kids. I’m not sure how this place is in business still based on management alone.
Bad management. My grandson went to the camp here. Very expensive and not very professional…..his brand new guitar broke on the first day at camp….the counselor didn’t see what happened…well where was he?? There are only 6 kids in the class and a small room. How could he not know what happened? The web site says that they will provide instruments….all they could provide him with was an electric guitar….which he did not like ….not what he wanted so they convinced him to play the keyboard. We had to convince him that he had to try to go back the next day….he was very upset but this place is too expensive to just give up. They advertise all kinds of “great” teaching methods and that your child will learn how to play a song. Well for over $400 he learned 3 notes on the keyboard. They had a show at the end of the week…what joke…the drummer and the two guitar player obviously had been going to this place for lessons for quite a while. They should really have better management. Another point came up that my grandson said it was too loud…I sent him with my phone headphones and asked when I dropped him off if they had headphones he could use since mine were not really the correct ones….I was told they have them but they are on a first come first served basis…well when I went to the show no other child had headphones so where were they ones that they had. The room is so tiny and they had tremendous speakers….way too loud for this purpose…I know sound like and old lady but this place is not what it’s advertised to be. At least for the camps. Maybe their lessons are better but if I were you I wouldn’t waste my money here. And now we have to buy another guitar!
The owner Denise is very rude and unprofessional! I was running late for my son’ s rescheduled lesson. I arrived about 20 minutes late due to an accident on route 18 to a locked school. When I spoke to Denise, she said the teacher had to go to work. When I told her my son’s lessons were 45 minutes, he still had time in his lesson. He still had 25 minutes left. She told me for the first time, it’s policy that they wait 15 minutes. Although the teacher was willing to reschedule the lesson, she refused to allow it. She would not en reshedule the 25 minutes that the teacher was not there. She stole 25 minutes from my son.
Needless to say, I gave 1 months notice and cancelled and now my son goes to the School of Rock in Clark. He is loving it. In addition to private lessons he is taking Rock 101. When I asked the manager at the Clark location if it is School of Rock procedure to wait only 15 minutes, she said she never heard of that. She told me if someone doesnt show, they call to follow up and see if you are on your way. I believe this is common courtesy, especially since, we are early 99 percent of the time. I guess all Denise cares about is getting your money! She did me a favor though because the Clark location is actually closer to my house.
