School of Rock has by far been the best decision I’ve made when it comes to bringing absolute joy to my son Alex. He’s only been enrolled for 6 months and the challenge was determining what instrument to start with. After choosing Drums he meet with one of their amazing music instructors and instantly made a great connection. He just played his first concerts (they have 3 concerts throughout the year) and he absolutely ROCKED his performance. I was just blow away and so incredibly proud with how GOOD he was. I feel that the amount of attention they pour into their program is outstanding. Band practice for 2 hours and 15 min and a private lesson for another 45 minutes really gets these kids to advance. Their professional organized staff is so amazing to work with and they also arrange seasonal complimentary workshops so these kids can learn more about different instruments and techniques. Alex is most excited about their Summer Camps and has already signed up for Metallica Camp for a full week 9 to 3 pm. THANK YOU BRANDY, ALEX, JOE AND CREW. I HAVE A MUSIC STUDENT FOR LIFE at SOR. (Adult Bands start after 18)
Loved it here.. Amazing

It’s a great group of people with high energy and the desire to deliver a great experience. I’ve never played with a group or band and this has given me the opportunity to do it in a casual environment with structure and experienced direction. It’s also given me confidence and stripped away any fear of playing in public. Tim Vlcek
My 8 year old had a blast at camp. She learned 3 songs in 1 week and felt like a rock star
The concept of live experiences, practical application of what is taught, and the constant focus on building confidence in School of Rock students are pure genius. I do not know of another program such as this and my daughter has grown exponentially as an entertainer in record time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Lucas works very well with my son he has tailored experience along with his preferences. We have worked remotely and they have both made it work well! It is a good learning experience!
Fantastic program. We’ve gotten so much out of it. All the teachers are so invested in the children. It’s more than merely theory here.
They are willing to teach any song and adjust to what the kids are looking to play….they are great stewards of music and the effect has become apparent.
I so wish this kind of place existed when I was a kid! But I’m so thankful that I can send my kids here to not only learn music basics, but also to get exposure to real music, not the mass produced pay-to-play radio garbage that has swindled the vast majority of the population into thinking The Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback are reasonable artists to listen to. Well F#¢K THAT! You wouldn’t feed your children a steaming pile of cat vomit, so why let them listen to it? Save music, and take your kids somewhere to learn music from people who actually know music.
Thank you for existing, School of Rock.
My 10-year old son had been a student at SOR Naperville for over two years. At 8 1/2, after begging him to practice and play piano for 3 years, I finally asked, “What instrument would you be willing to practice? The answer, “drums”. This prompted us to enroll him in private lessons which eventually led to Rock 101. Since then, he has performed in 3 live shows and he considers SOR his home away from home. We have seen him gain so much self-confidence and a sense of who he is from this experience. Their approach to learning is unique and builds a community of artists and creates an outlet for kids who otherwise would not have one.
Living in a community like Naperville, kids are fortunate to be exposed to so many different activities at a very young age. Like many families, we started out in soccer and Tball with our son. It became clear early on that team sports was not his “groove” and that he would have to find someplace else to excel. We would never have guessed at that time that it would be School of Rock. Their approach to learning music motivates kids to practice and improve so that they do not let down their “team” of musicians and so that they are ready to perform on their performance date. Taking both a group and private lesson each week really increases their retention and confidence.
He has not only learned the drums and bass guitar, but he is now begging us for vocal lessons! We knew SOR was the right place for him when on a 3rd grade writing assignment he wrote, ” I feel most at home at School of Rock.” “I love to stay late after my lesson and read my book while I wait for my Mom”. To know that our son feels like he fits in and that he feels so comfortable there is very reassuring to us. Each of his coaches has encouraged and motivated him differently and he respects that they all are live performers and can speak from their experience on stage.
We feel like part of the School of Rock Naperville family and are proud to say so! The owner and manager have always been grateful for our business, accommodated all of our scheduling requests and taken great care of our son!

This is a fun-filled and energy-filled place. It’s a great afters-long-school-day activity for the kids to follow. When they need to run off some of their bottled-up energy into something productive yet fun: Not too structured, not too sitting down without moving.
Have had rather negative experiences here with the instructors and overall learning environment. Will need to look elsewhere.

The staff—especially Danielle, Maggie, Alex and Bryan—are terrific! The kids have a lot of fun and learn a lot too. Highly recommend!
Exposure to great venues and live performances in community festivals/fairs. Positive environment and awesome staff and teachers! Love School of Rock Highwood!!
Great instruction, community & bands! My kids love School of Rock & we love watching their live of music grow & going to their shoes!

Awesome place to learn and better yourself as a musician! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and great at inspiring the students to learn music! The School of Rock method is streamlined through professional means to keep that consistency with the successful franchise. The location is very clean, easy to navigate, decor is elevated all around and COVID-19 precautions were in place when it was needed most, still optionable I believe at request. Learning music can inspire confidence for somebody of any age, it’s invaluable and although it could be very tough to learn instruments it can be very fufilling, very good for the brain as well! I myself have taken lessons in the past from private teachers all the way through college level classes and having the system in place is highly effective, curtailed to modern technology like apps. Pricing is reasonable, the skills for life are worth unpinching any penny. What would I change? Perhaps building a small stage to lift drums off floor in band rooms, T.V in the back lobby, more soundproofing including foam, diffusion and although this is more of a franchise suggestion, adding music studio/production/recording elements to the mix! Also, more raises for the drum teachers!! Great location!

I thoroughly enjoy collaborating and performing with teaching staff and fellow musicians in adult band. Highly recommend if you’re looking to join a band!
Right next door to The Art Of Pizza…Pizza by the slice, spaghetti, soups, rib dinner.
We love that every week our daughter gets both a one on one drum lesson, and gets to play with a full band in Rock 101! She’s learning so much & picks up everything quickly with this concept, and all the fun music she gets to play! And we’ve recommended SoR to several friends, whose kids are now rocking out at School of Rock!

School of Rock Glen Ellyn has been a wonderful place for my kids. They have grown – musically and as people. To provide a kid with a music education, as well as a chance to grown in self confidence and belong is priceless.
Tina worked very hard to make scheduling work for my daughter, despite the fact that we are summer-only clients. Laura works very well with children and knows her craft very well and is able to teach it effectively.
School of Rock is a great way to take the love that kids have for music and not only develop that love but to perform what they learn in front of others, giving them confidence and skills thay would never have by just sitting in a lesson room alone.
Disappointing. I have two kids there. They decided to switch my kids lesson whither I liked it or not, because her teacher was needed elsewhere. They were having her teacher teach a group class. So they inconvenienced us to make more money whither we liked it or not.
My other child is in group kids class, it doesn’t seem like he’s learning anything. He spent one day drawing a picture of drums and played no music. It’s more like music themed daycare than music lessons. Classes start late every week.
I was using SoR in Elmhurst. They rarely had the same teacher from week to week, at least there each kid got to play their own instruments for the class. My scheduled changed and they don’t have Sat classes. Usually with the franchisee model things are held together a lot better.
It’s too bad because I like the model where kids play together.

This is a great place for your kids to learn an instrument. One lesson per week and you are put with a band on Saturdays for band practice.
Only place to go! This place will teach your kid to learn music. No gimmicks!
I just have to say THANK YOU, to school of rock! My 7 year old was the youngest probably least experienced and the fact she got to play and the AMAZING other students in the band were so wonderful. The program is amazing and I am in awe of the talent of SOR Geneva. I am beyond beaming and cannot not say THANK YOU (see capital letters again) for letting her play. You guys beyond rock!
Inept management and an absentee owner that couldn’t care less about the well being of the students. There inability to effectively communicate and problem solve made it a nightmare to work there. The students are fantastic and the staff is good too. Poor management that needs to be replaced. I would highly suggest looking into private lessons elsewhere.
Not what you need if you want to have your child to learn the fundamentals of music, learn how to become a better musician, improve on their instrument. No this is not that place. if your child wants to just “jam out” and play whatever along with other students of (somewhat) similar musical level then you’ll find that here.
OVERPRICED & lacking for an inadequate musical education. Staff is inappropriate to teach children. My kid got hurt there due to the sloppiness. Owner & staff didn’t seem to care or take his injuries seriously. They just want you to pay, but don’t know what they’re doing in terms of tending to kids needs or teaching the fundamentals of music. I won’t be trusting my kids alone with them in the future.

My daughter just loves School of Rock! She loves her vocal coach and all her band members each season!! Everyone is nice, friendly and come together to share their love of music!! It has helped build her confidence and make new friendships! If your child loves to play or sing , this is a wonderful opportunity! Come join this great family at School of Rock in Plainfield ♥️
School of Rock isn’t just a music school. It is a family. There are programs for all ages and the parents get to see their kids grow and improve together. I was encouraged by my daughter to join the adult program. Then after she graduated from the youth program she joined my adult band. It was amazing singing with my daughter and watching the kids she performed with grow and improve. There was a girl who was shy and scared in her first show with my daughter. Early this season she sang the national anthem for the Chicago Bulls. That is the confidence School of Rock brings to our kids. My son just joined and I can’t wait to see him in his first rock concert.
I have been a student here for years and I have nothing but great things to say. It’s an Amazing place with AMAZING people! It’s the perfect place to learn music in a positive environment. Great for beginner musicians as well as experienced, as there is a lot to learn from the instructors there about music and what it’s like to be in a real band. Can’t get this kind of musical experience and knowledge anywhere else!
I am very disappointed with the work of the School of Rock Plainfield, in the 9 days that have passed since the agreement on a trial lesson for my six-year-old daughter, none of the managers of the School of Rock Plainfield checked and noticed that the lesson time was not set correctly, and when we arrived, they simply offered to come to the next week. My child was very upset because all this time, she was looking forward to this lesson, and I had to think carefully and reschedule her other classes for the time of the scheduled lesson. I was upset that the manager did not even consider it necessary to approach us. She spoke to me, standing at the opposite end of the hall. I don’t know how they teach music, but the management is very unprofessional.

Our 15 year old has been playing guitar for 2 years now. He plays until his fingers are raw, he plays until we tell him its too late to blast the neighbors, he plays for our neighbors as they walk their dogs… Where does a kid like this find community? School of Rock has been a great partner so far! We are School of Rock fans!
Good infrastructure and ambiance
I am a self-taught guitar player and was in a rut. I joined the adult program 2 months ago and cant believe the impact this program has had on my playing (skill, confidence, playing live). SoR takes safety seriously but it also feels like a community of music when I’m there. GREAT band directors and they know how to bring out each person’s skills in a pressure-free environment. I really wish I had done this sooner.
My son had an awesome time at School of Rock today.
Love School of Rock! The approach of mixing individual lessons with a band of peers and actual performances is perfect for learning and staying motivated. The instructors are great, and the bands have a chance to play venues all over the area. We have been with the school since they opened a few years ago. Our son has moved from guitar and bass to drums, and had a great experience with each instrument. The staff is responsive and friendly, the kids have developed real friendships, and they are playing great music (no hot cross buns played on repeat at this school).
Kind and informative. But not very professional on the phone.

We have had a wonderful experience at School of Rock! Our children have grown as musicians and performers. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
My son is 13, is pretty introverted. He is mostly into gaming, accept when it comes to going to his lessons and rehearsals at The School of Rock. He sincerely LOVES this place and it has brought out so much personality in him. Music, being a part of a band, the teachers, is helping him come out of his shell- and express himself. I can’t wait to continue this journey and watch him have a great time in this positive environment.
We love everything about School of Rock! The teachers are fantastic and invested in their students’ growth in all areas of music and performance.
