My daughter loves the zoom voice lessons and her in person band practices.
Great staff and instructors for my bass player kiddo! Weekly online feedback/assignments from the instructors is awesome. The owners are super nice as well.
Love School of Rock! The approach of mixing individual lessons with a band of peers and actual performances is perfect for learning and staying motivated. The instructors are great, and the bands have a chance to play venues all over the area. We have been with the school since they opened a few years ago. Our son has moved from guitar and bass to drums, and had a great experience with each instrument. The staff is responsive and friendly, the kids have developed real friendships, and they are playing great music (no hot cross buns played on repeat at this school).
My son had an awesome time at School of Rock today.
Kind and informative. But not very professional on the phone.

I am a member of the Elmhurst SOR Old Skool adult program. The SOR format of learn > practice > rehearse > perform is the most efficient and enjoyable way for an aspiring musician to progress from chord diagrams to performing on a floodlit stage. I like the music we play; I like the mixture of fun and discipline around the program; the venue is comfortable and convenient; the equipment always works. Lenny gets 11/10 as a great musician, great teacher/mentor, great musical director and an all-round inspiring guy. The management team is pleasant, efficient and responsive. What’s not to like?
Our son has loved being part of the School of Rock community! He does vocals and will be learning guitar next. The teachers are wonderful and he is getting exposure to classic rock songs and learning about different instruments. It’s a great experience and he loves going every week!
Teachers and staff are wonderful! Everyone at SoR is enthusiastic about inspiring students to learn about and love music. Rock on!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it here. My daughter won’t stop talking about it. Great space, everyone is friendly and I love the vibe.
Wish a few teachers had a little more training in controlling kids. Some kids like to take control of the class and a couple teachers are too gentle in calling them. It effects class time for others.
Very unprofessional.

We are so happy with the experience our daughter has had at School of Rock Naperville. She plays the keyboard and vocals. All the teachers have been so supportive. They are great mentors for the children. Because the teachers are so passionate about music, they are able to bring out the best in the students. The environment is so positive among all the students. We love that all the kids support each other. They encourage all members to try new things. It is amazing how our shy and quite daughter has become so comfortable on stage. This is a skill that will be beneficial in other areas of her life. We highly recommend this program.
I like the professional and friendly actions of the teacher. My daughter loves to go there
Great place for kids to get introduced to music. Awesome staff.
This is a fun-filled and energy-filled place. It’s a great afters-long-school-day activity for the kids to follow. When they need to run off some of their bottled-up energy into something productive yet fun: Not too structured, not too sitting down without moving.
My 10-year old son had been a student at SOR Naperville for over two years. At 8 1/2, after begging him to practice and play piano for 3 years, I finally asked, “What instrument would you be willing to practice? The answer, “drums”. This prompted us to enroll him in private lessons which eventually led to Rock 101. Since then, he has performed in 3 live shows and he considers SOR his home away from home. We have seen him gain so much self-confidence and a sense of who he is from this experience. Their approach to learning is unique and builds a community of artists and creates an outlet for kids who otherwise would not have one.
Living in a community like Naperville, kids are fortunate to be exposed to so many different activities at a very young age. Like many families, we started out in soccer and Tball with our son. It became clear early on that team sports was not his “groove” and that he would have to find someplace else to excel. We would never have guessed at that time that it would be School of Rock. Their approach to learning music motivates kids to practice and improve so that they do not let down their “team” of musicians and so that they are ready to perform on their performance date. Taking both a group and private lesson each week really increases their retention and confidence.
He has not only learned the drums and bass guitar, but he is now begging us for vocal lessons! We knew SOR was the right place for him when on a 3rd grade writing assignment he wrote, ” I feel most at home at School of Rock.” “I love to stay late after my lesson and read my book while I wait for my Mom”. To know that our son feels like he fits in and that he feels so comfortable there is very reassuring to us. Each of his coaches has encouraged and motivated him differently and he respects that they all are live performers and can speak from their experience on stage.
We feel like part of the School of Rock Naperville family and are proud to say so! The owner and manager have always been grateful for our business, accommodated all of our scheduling requests and taken great care of our son!

Have had rather negative experiences here with the instructors and overall learning environment. Will need to look elsewhere.

My son loves his instructor. Recently, he joined a performance group and is enjoying it immensely! He has met some new friends and is excited for the upcoming performance!!!
My son has enjoyed all his School of Rock teachers and the many opportunities they provide to expand his musical interests.
The staff and teachers are always kind and willing to help. They make sure the material you are learning in class is right for you.
They do an excellent job trying to ensure the student experience is a positive and rich one. My daughter loves her instructor.
listened at the show at the library, very good.

I’m so glad I joined School of Rock! The camaraderie of my band mates and the non judgmental attitudes, (especially since I’m doing this for fun and this is my first time) has put me at ease and made me feel very welcome. The staff is great too and want to see me succeed. I always look forward to my band rehearsals and private voice lessons. These are the highlight of my week!
We have had a wonderful experience at School of Rock! Our children have grown as musicians and performers. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Our son has been taking drum lessons at SOR for the past two years. The instructors are great and they create a productive and fun learning environment for the kids. Highly recommend them.

SOR has given my daughter an environment to learn how to play bass, play with other musicians, and make new friends!
My son has been drumming here for almost 3 years. We will be continuing for many more. It is a place where kids can learn and appreciate music…rock music! If your child has any interest in being a first class rocker, you’ve got to check it out
School Of Rock is the single greatest impact on my son. His self esteem has increased 1000%! His technical abilities since he started are impossible to overrate. If your child has any interest in music whatsoever, get them in this program as soon as possible. 10 stars out of 5

American Music Institute summer camp suppose to be fun for all ages.
My girl was super excited about the camp. Every day she would come home and show off what she learned or new composition she had composed. She was so sad that it ended and wished it was longer than just a week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

They really do excellent job engaging their students. A wonderful & talented staff in every aspect. Very good communication, we always know what’s going on! They try to work with families and scheduling via virtual or in-person practice. It’s been wonderful to have the option to go in where all safety protocol is met above and beyond. She looks forward to this weekly, the routine as well as the social aspect and mostly she loves the music & strengthening her skills!
Great school. The talent depth is large in Oak Park so if your kid can make it, it’s a good indication of their talent. Great staff, quality program for music education and life skills.
Amazing, supportive instructors who share their passion for music with my kids.
9/10, not enuf jaz

I appreciate how teachers adjust their plan for individuals as well as the fact that students receive both a solo lesson and a group lesson.

Very good
Sure, it was a long time ago ago and may have improved but when I think back, there were so many ways it needed to that I hate to think of it not getting better. Want a quick, 10 second rundown?
– useless “counselors”- no idea what they were about. My kids started checking in 1st semester freshman year to plan for life after HS
– lecherous, pedophile band director apparently loved by “everyone” but yuck
– absurd, simplistic “humanities” coursework
– instructors completely ignored by students in some classes- I remember a desk thrown out an upper story window
-frank bullying in front of teachers by a loser classmate who stated and restated my name “… you are so ugly”…
-Apparently no plan to retain at risk students.
So has it changed? Only with a lot of effort would it be at all possible.

My son has been working with Jack for about two years and has participated in several camps as well as band practice. Jack is an amazing teacher, great with kids, patient and knowledgeable. I have also taken lessons with Jack and he is equally wonderful with adults.
Kim the vocal coach, she’s such a vibe.
Live this place. Friendly and great to work with.
Summer Camp is so much fun for my guitarist! It brings out the little rockstar in her. I love the energy of the teachers and how they inspire the kids to do their best! I would give it 5 out of 5 stars, but the cost is high for lessons and camp.

The instructors are knowledgeable about many different genres, theories, and patterns in music. They tailor each lesson to the student’s interests and preferences; explaining various musical aspects in ways that students of any age are able to understand. They encourage students to keep striving toward goals and greater potential. The atmosphere seriously feels like that of a big family every time I walk in there.
amazing music school with great music programs for every age that always has you learning new things and even life lessons!
Disappointing. I have two kids there. They decided to switch my kids lesson whither I liked it or not, because her teacher was needed elsewhere. They were having her teacher teach a group class. So they inconvenienced us to make more money whither we liked it or not.
My other child is in group kids class, it doesn’t seem like he’s learning anything. He spent one day drawing a picture of drums and played no music. It’s more like music themed daycare than music lessons. Classes start late every week.
I was using SoR in Elmhurst. They rarely had the same teacher from week to week, at least there each kid got to play their own instruments for the class. My scheduled changed and they don’t have Sat classes. Usually with the franchisee model things are held together a lot better.
It’s too bad because I like the model where kids play together.

We love School of Rock! Great experience for my son who loves music!
Love this place and the people who make it work. Wish we had SOR when I was a young musician!
I love that the Instructors and Management encourage kids of all skill levels.
I love that they challenges the kids to take chances without fear of consequences.
I love that experienced kids get a change to be mentors to newer members.
I love the faces of the kids coming off the stage after just killing a set.
I love the variety of the music that the kids are introduced to.
I love seeing kids playing multiple instruments.
I could go on and on,
I love what School of Rock is all about.
