We are so thrilled with School of Rock in Highlands Ranch. My 7 year old son has been going here for just over 2 months now, learning drums. He’s learned so so so much in the short time he’s been there, and he’s loved every minute of it. The owners are so supportive of all the kids, and his personal instructor Christian is absolutely amazing with him.

A great place for kids to learn to play in a band setting, learn on professional equipment, and mentor with a skilled and friendly teacher.
We love the experienced teachers, the kid-centric teaching styles, and the emphasis on learning songs and playing in performances. The mixed-ages band has been super motivating for our kid: he’s made a ton of progress in just a few months!
Being hired as a voice instructor at the Boulder School of Rock has been nothing short of wonderful! The kids are so passionate about music and the other instructors are amazing and talented! I love what the performance program offers the students and the 2nd home the school has provided for them. The instructors at School of Rock work hard to create a safe and unique environment for the students to learn and is unlike any other music school. We love School of Rock!
**Editing this review WAY up from 1 star because this School has undergone some MAJOR changes in the last 6 months! There is NEW management, there are some FABULOUS (and also new) instructors, and everything is just looking amazing for this place. I’m grateful and relieved that we stuck it out through a challenging time — this is an amazing place for our kid (He has been playing here for 4 years now).
I fully expect to be able to bump this review up to 5 stars over the next several months.
Our daughter has grown as a musician while taking lessons and participating in performance groups. Our highlight so far has been performing at The Fox theater in Boulder. Next up…Red Rocks!
This place used to be fabulous with great instructors who were trained in teaching kids – not just in playing. Over the past six months almost all of those teachers (who are still shown on the website) have left. The operations of the place have gone downhill and the newer instructors are a much lower caliber. It is disappointing to give a mediocre rating, as this place used to be great and my kids loved it. I hope they can turn things around.
We had a poor experience with the staff at the Boulder School of Rock. I understand that they have had a lot of turnover recently, Lessons were cancelled last minute and there were problems with payments. I would not recommend it to anyone.
They aren’t helping families who can’t afford to pay for lessons during this pandemic and not only that but they are still applying their 30 day notice for canceling your classes so they families who can’t afford it still have to pay for those 30 days no matter what. This is just not cool and shows they don’t care about their students and their families.

Wow, what an awesome place for all ages! The STAFF is incredibly knowledgable and GIFTED in their abilities to share that knowledge. If you are looking for a music school to develop your abilities without even realizing you are learning because its so fun, this is the place for you.
Caring instructors who take the time to target the needs of each student. High level instruction, very qualified teachers. All around great experience!
My son really enjoys lessons at school of rock and looks forward to them which is always a plus for us parents!
Attentive and inspiring instructors!
Auditioned here a while back for a teaching position. Despite 20 years of playing rock and a minor in jazz they wouldn’t even call me back when I tried to follow up 2 days later. If you really want to help a musician get a private lesson. That way all the money actually goes to the person who spent years working on their craft rather than the School of Rock franchise fees. They pay $15/hour to start. They weren’t concerned with my experience playing rock, they were more concerned with arbitrary things like the half note shuffle or 6 strike roll. Elements of exactly .001% of rock songs. High prices babysitters basically
