American Music Institute summer camp suppose to be fun for all ages.
So much fun! We had a great time.
My girl was super excited about the camp. Every day she would come home and show off what she learned or new composition she had composed. She was so sad that it ended and wished it was longer than just a week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My son has participated in 3 Performance Programs and taken drum lessons for the past year at School of Rock, Geneva. He loves the experience and has learned so much about what it takes to put on a performance and be part of a group.
He had taken piano lessons for years and played in the middle school band, but this experience is what he’s been looking for. All the performance directors and his drum instructor Brad have been awesome.
I just have to say THANK YOU, to school of rock! My 7 year old was the youngest probably least experienced and the fact she got to play and the AMAZING other students in the band were so wonderful. The program is amazing and I am in awe of the talent of SOR Geneva. I am beyond beaming and cannot not say THANK YOU (see capital letters again) for letting her play. You guys beyond rock!
AWESOME place!! My son started here about a month ago, and he loves it. We’re already a musical home, and he was already a music fan, but he lights up when he enters the door, because he knows it’s time to make some noise and have some fun. Thank you SOR for all that you do for these kids.
Inept management and an absentee owner that couldn’t care less about the well being of the students. There inability to effectively communicate and problem solve made it a nightmare to work there. The students are fantastic and the staff is good too. Poor management that needs to be replaced. I would highly suggest looking into private lessons elsewhere.
OVERPRICED & lacking for an inadequate musical education. Staff is inappropriate to teach children. My kid got hurt there due to the sloppiness. Owner & staff didn’t seem to care or take his injuries seriously. They just want you to pay, but don’t know what they’re doing in terms of tending to kids needs or teaching the fundamentals of music. I won’t be trusting my kids alone with them in the future.
Not what you need if you want to have your child to learn the fundamentals of music, learn how to become a better musician, improve on their instrument. No this is not that place. if your child wants to just “jam out” and play whatever along with other students of (somewhat) similar musical level then you’ll find that here.

I can count on one hand the number of reviews I have written but I am so happy with School of Rock in Naperville I had to write a review.
My son has been playing guitar since he was 5 years old but had reached a point that he was loosing interest in the guitar, because he was playing alone. We visited School of Rock in Naperville during the open house this past spring and my son wanted to start that night. He was nervous, his first night but the staff and students made him feel at home and welcome. He played his first show this past summer and is preparing for his second show next month.
The School of Rock in Naperville has done more than put my son in an environment where he can play guitar with other young adults in a show. It has changed how my son thinks about music. He is now taking bass lessons and he is learning music theory. My son is practicing all of the time and excited about playing again, because of the School of Rock in Naperville he had the confidence to try out for the Middle School Jazz Band on guitar and was accepted. He is still in Grade School.
School of Rock in Naperville has found a way to teach life lessons through music. Values like working hard for something you want, helping others and working in a group. They do this with something that is both fun and positive music.
The instructors are great and encouraging during both lessons and rehearsals and they make it fun. The staff has always been professional and accommodating.
Sadly, I can only give School of Rock in Naperville 5 Stars.
Nothing short of amazing…SoR has an amazing staff from the front desk fella, rocking manager, phenomenal owner, to the beyond talented instructors. My son takes keyboard and guitar lessons at SoR and LOVES it. I never have to beg him to practice like I did with his regular piano lessons. His teacher is a bonafide star (Adam Krier of LBC and AM Taxi) with so much talent, musical wisdom, and a cool factor that motivates my son more so than any other teacher he has ever had. The instructors are real life rock stars with hearts of gold who will motivate and inspire your budding musicians. Run don’t walk to sign-up for lessons, camp, or the performance program. The kids get to perform for large audiences on stage at real venues with their band. Invaluable experiences abound!
This is a fun-filled and energy-filled place. It’s a great afters-long-school-day activity for the kids to follow. When they need to run off some of their bottled-up energy into something productive yet fun: Not too structured, not too sitting down without moving.
My 10-year old son had been a student at SOR Naperville for over two years. At 8 1/2, after begging him to practice and play piano for 3 years, I finally asked, “What instrument would you be willing to practice? The answer, “drums”. This prompted us to enroll him in private lessons which eventually led to Rock 101. Since then, he has performed in 3 live shows and he considers SOR his home away from home. We have seen him gain so much self-confidence and a sense of who he is from this experience. Their approach to learning is unique and builds a community of artists and creates an outlet for kids who otherwise would not have one.
Living in a community like Naperville, kids are fortunate to be exposed to so many different activities at a very young age. Like many families, we started out in soccer and Tball with our son. It became clear early on that team sports was not his “groove” and that he would have to find someplace else to excel. We would never have guessed at that time that it would be School of Rock. Their approach to learning music motivates kids to practice and improve so that they do not let down their “team” of musicians and so that they are ready to perform on their performance date. Taking both a group and private lesson each week really increases their retention and confidence.
He has not only learned the drums and bass guitar, but he is now begging us for vocal lessons! We knew SOR was the right place for him when on a 3rd grade writing assignment he wrote, ” I feel most at home at School of Rock.” “I love to stay late after my lesson and read my book while I wait for my Mom”. To know that our son feels like he fits in and that he feels so comfortable there is very reassuring to us. Each of his coaches has encouraged and motivated him differently and he respects that they all are live performers and can speak from their experience on stage.
We feel like part of the School of Rock Naperville family and are proud to say so! The owner and manager have always been grateful for our business, accommodated all of our scheduling requests and taken great care of our son!

Have had rather negative experiences here with the instructors and overall learning environment. Will need to look elsewhere.

My daughter took summer camp here and absolutely loved it! She is very inspired and wants to do more! She looks forward to coming every day.
We love School of Rock! Great experience for my son who loves music!
My kid loves it! He looks forward to going every week. I love that he is able to try out different instruments without having to necessarily commit. Also, we have gone on several vacations and the office assistant has been great at allowing us to move our weekly lesson to another day of the week as a makeup class. I would highly recommend Hinsdale and Naperville locations.

Before I started coming here I was shy and would panic if someone told me to sing in front of them, but now I’m picking up any instrument I can find and doing what I love in front of people and pushing myself, all with thanks to school of rock.
I love how the teachers make music fun for the kids. My kids have been in traditional music programs but it never “clicked” with them. School of Rock puts the fun back in music lessons and makes it practical for kids to relate to. My kids cannot put their instruments down and always appreciate an opportunity to show off.

Best thing that ever happened for our child! Highly recommended. They have a great staff that are welcoming and accepting of all people. Our child has been attending for 3 years now and who knows how much better they’d be by now had they started there sooner. We are not from Oak Park, we reside in Chicago and the group of musicians there have taken our child in and made them feel at home. They have great friendships that formed at the school.
I love the instructors at SOR oak park! Great energy
We have been at SOR for years now and I love the staff and the format. This year has been especially challenging for everyone and I am so grateful for SOR to have a safe place for my child to get away from the house and let loose creative expression. Music is so healing and it has made a difference in our home.
I appreciate how teachers adjust their plan for individuals as well as the fact that students receive both a solo lesson and a group lesson.
9/10, not enuf jaz

We have had our child at School Of Rock for over three years now, and it’s been a wonderful experience! Great instructors, excellent music, really could not be happier!
The experience has been excellent since ownership changed a few months ago. There is a great all around staff, group instructors, and leadership. The group-focused, song-first approach, helps students accelerate their learning experience. I highly recommend the School of Rock program, and the Arlington Heights location in particular.
My son had a great time at School of Rock’s week long Rock 101 camp. He went in having never played an instrument and ended the week playing drums and bass in a band! He now wants to keep playing.
listened at the show at the library, very good.
They do an excellent job trying to ensure the student experience is a positive and rich one. My daughter loves her instructor.

Awesome place to learn and better yourself as a musician! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and great at inspiring the students to learn music! The School of Rock method is streamlined through professional means to keep that consistency with the successful franchise. The location is very clean, easy to navigate, decor is elevated all around and COVID-19 precautions were in place when it was needed most, still optionable I believe at request. Learning music can inspire confidence for somebody of any age, it’s invaluable and although it could be very tough to learn instruments it can be very fufilling, very good for the brain as well! I myself have taken lessons in the past from private teachers all the way through college level classes and having the system in place is highly effective, curtailed to modern technology like apps. Pricing is reasonable, the skills for life are worth unpinching any penny. What would I change? Perhaps building a small stage to lift drums off floor in band rooms, T.V in the back lobby, more soundproofing including foam, diffusion and although this is more of a franchise suggestion, adding music studio/production/recording elements to the mix! Also, more raises for the drum teachers!! Great location!

Fantastic place for kids to learn an instrument in a fun environment. The teachers and staff are all excellent and excited to work with kids. They love music but they love kids too. We’ve been to other School of Rock locations and Barrington has been our best experience. I wouldn’t have my son go anywhere else. High quality of lessons, performance experience, and overall atmosphere.
My son did a free trial class and loved it, so we enrolled. Happy to have this as an option right in town!
Both my sons did a camp, they had a blast and ended up performing a rock song on stage! There staff is also amazing. Totally love the place
This school is only for approved white rich people. Horrible experience with the instructors playing favorites. If I could give zero stars I would. All of these five star ratings are from the parents that have been given preferential treatment. Don’t waste your time, and YOUR MONEY if you’re a hardworking middle class family in this school.
Not really impressed with this school. We went for a trial lesson with every intention of signing up for regular classes. The instructor really had nothing to say to me after my son’s class. I had to approach him myself as he was walking away and still he barely said a thing after I inquired about how everything went. Say something man. Anything. The front desk attendant educated me more than the actual teacher. Just left w a bleh feeling. Not signing up.

So many talented children… Bravoo boys & girls you Rock!!!
My son is shy but they have managed to make him feel comfortable singing his heart out. He loves music and we feel whether it’s as a music teacher or singing in some capacity we’re hopeful that the school of rock gives him the confidence and foundation to pursue music.
He is hyper and all over the place but music gives him something to focus on! We couldn’t be happier with the school. They genuinely care about their students!
My son had an awesome time at School of Rock today.
Love School of Rock! The approach of mixing individual lessons with a band of peers and actual performances is perfect for learning and staying motivated. The instructors are great, and the bands have a chance to play venues all over the area. We have been with the school since they opened a few years ago. Our son has moved from guitar and bass to drums, and had a great experience with each instrument. The staff is responsive and friendly, the kids have developed real friendships, and they are playing great music (no hot cross buns played on repeat at this school).
Kind and informative. But not very professional on the phone.
