I been going here for almost 2 months and it just feels so familiar and new and exciting every visit. I have improved in my vocals so much thanks to my teacher Sherry! she’s so enthusiastic, kind, passionate, and educated on her crafts. I am someone with HUGE anxiety but I am telling you coming here you will not feel that sense. I’ve already improved so much it’s honestly scary. Sad that it’s once a week and 30 minute sessions but that’s totally acceptable and appropriate but it’s honestly so dope you’d wanna be here 24/7 cause you learn and have fun at the same time. Covid-19 protocols are in place and safe staff are vaccinated and wear masks. While singing with Sherry we both maintain distance as much as possible and wear clear face shields they have plenty provided as well due to being able to see vocal technique and to hear clearly) so that is not a worry. Not to mention it is a clean space and is affordable for families. I love it here
Best place in town for rehearsal space! Their studio is top notch!
My son has been going to the Detroit School of Rock and Pop since he was 7 years old. He is now a senior in high school and an incredible musician and singer as a result of the amazing jobs
His teachers and mentors did at DSRP.
His band has played all over the city and he’s experienced live broadcasts and wonderful events full of interesting people. The support he received through this program not only helped him grow artistically, but as a person as well. Shout out to Julie, Rocco, Jason, and Sherry for helping to guide Cole in his musical career. He has loved every minute of it and we have too.
God bless this awesome school!!!

Great place learn to play music. Very nice and helpful staff and owners.
School Of Rock on Jackson is an amazing establishment. You will be greeted by a warm smile every time and you will have professional instructors. Your lesson will be tailored to your needs and interests. I love School of Rock!
Both of my kids have been going to School of Rock for over a year and absolutely love it! There has never been a day when they don’t want to go. The instructors do a great job making it fun yet educational and my kids love being able to choose the songs they want to learn. I’ve recommended School of Rock to close friends (that have also loved it) and I will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a great music school.
Lame and bad business practices. 🙁

Great atmosphere, the staff really seem to care about music and their students. The Little Wings program is awesome and run by very cool teachers.
School of Rock GR has been fantastic for our preschooler. He especially enjoys his instructor always looks forward to attending weekly classes. Mr. Connor does a brilliant job engaging and (re)directing a room full of energetic kids. He and all of staff are so kind, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about music which is reflected in the way they interact with the students. We really appreciated the opportunity to do a trial lesson before starting classes, it was a great chance to check out the curriculum; the levels and structure of which are really thoughtfully tailored to age and skill level. Certainly for our kiddo it is both challenging and fun and we’ve already seen the impacts of what he’s been picking up in class. We look forward to continuing here as he progresses.
Such an amazing, professional, accepting, & FUN environment for students.

The school is always busy and bursting with music! My daughter is loving her drum lessons with her teacher, Eric, too.
If I had something like this to attend when I was younger, I would have loved it. It’s a great environment for these pre-teen and teens.
Great place for kids to build confidence and work as a team to put on a great show
Update: Had previously rated School of Rock Rochester 5 Stars, but recently the monthly fees have increased significantly! In addition, they have started charging us a fee of $120 per person to make us buy tickets and posters for our own shows! This is for adult band mind you, they used to do this for the kids and their excuse was that it taught kids how to promote their band (maybe I can almost buy this for a young person that might have a career in music), for an adult doing it as a hobby it is just another shameless money grab. Now they also have decided to take a week off after each show, but still charge for rehearsals and lessons while not actually conducting them. So essentially less rehearsal time and lesson sessions for significantly more cost. They have equipment that is ancient and the turnover is high because they don’t pay employees enough to stay. This location is a corporate owned location and significantly more expensive than other Michigan franchised locations. I recommend looking to the other metro Detroit locations. No show fees, lower tuition, same basic program. On the positive side the musicians we work with are talented and great individuals. The issue here is corporate greed and management. Went from recommend this location to decent , but recommend looking for a more affordable alternative. Even the franchised schools.
