This is a fantastic sleepaway summer camp for kids interested in the arts! My son participated in a half-summer session several years ago and had a wonderful time! It was his first time away from us for an extended period of time. We had full trust in the staff to take good care of him. Over the summer, he made great friends and participated in the theater, flameworking, music and metalsmithing/jewelry studios. He had private vocal lessons weekly with highly qualified instructor from New York City. The great thing about Buck’s Rock is that kids can choose which studios to participate in. They could try various ones or just focus on a few, if they are particularly drawn to certain crafts. The structure is imposed by a wake up time and meal times. Otherwise, the kids can participate in whichever studios they want to. The setting in New Milford, CT is idylic and makes you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city, from school life, etc. Could not recommended it more highly!
I can’t explain Buck’s Rock in words… the possibilities are endless! (Pictures were taken off season.)
This is the best camp I have gone to, it was great.
Going to like this Camp is amazing you can do glass blowing radio batik sewing and other stuff like so many other things the only thing that I don’t like about this Camp are the cits and the counselors there’s just too much for me to haddle yhis Camp would have been a five but the cits and the counselors.
Would not recommend.
They did not refund camp tuition despite camp being cancelled in 2020. I have fought with Arch insurance for 8 months to only be reimbursed for 75% of my daughters tuition despite having medical documentation for cancelling her camp.
Buck’s Rock knew camp would be cancelled due to Covid. They encouraged families to purchase the premium insurance at $400 so they wouldn’t have to refund the money and then tuition wasn’t fully reimbursed. They were happy to collect the tuition money and keep it despite camp being cancelled.
I have paid for camp and the service wasn’t provided.
No loyalty to their staff.
They burnt me with a hot glue gun and now I have permanent injuries.

School of Rock Madison has been a fantastic experience for my son. He’s had great drum instruction as a beginner and now is starting full band practices too! Great communication, flexible approaches, and just a good atmosphere. Highly recommended!
School of Rock in Madison has been an amazing experience for my daughter. She’s learning electric guitar and had her first band performance yesterday. It’s amazing to watch her, she’s gained so much confidence since she began. The instructors and staff are all so supportive and positive, it’s a pleasure to be a part of this rocking community.
My daughter attended Punk rock week summer camp and she LOVED it! She is normally an introvert but Walker and Rach were supportive and encouraging. She sang lead vocals at the end of the week concert in front of a crowd filled with friends, family and restaurant patrons. We can’t wait to sign her up for voice lessons in the Spring.
My son a year ago had never held a drumstick. This past Sunday he was on stage performing with other SoR kids in front of 150 people at a venue that reminded me of college days 😉 It was unbelievable.
His progress over the last 12 months has been obvious and demonstrated.
Brandon, Matt, The Mikes, Grace and Blake are incredible teachers and mentors.

What an amazing program, I can see the improvement in my son not only as how to play but how to present himself.
He is way more confident….so thank you School of Rock!
OMG. Saw these talented young people at the Palace Theater last night for the Kenny Wayne Sheppard/ Buddy Guy show. I walked in Halfway though the very last song and immediately paid attention. They are so good so early in life. God Bless all those gifted young and old souls that have such great talent.
SOR has taught my son so much more than his instrument. He truly understands how a band functions as a unit but also is dependent on the individual choices of each member. He has gained friends, confidence, expertise and so much more through SOR.

My 4 yo daughter started at School of Rock East Hartford this summer and has absolutely loved it. From the very first day she’s come out of her Little Wingz class excited and ready to show us what she learned. The instructors are kind and professional and seem to bond well with the kids. Every kid comes out of class with smiles and ready to rock, which speaks to their experience. I appreciate that they provide a break down of the skills and activities they practiced that day and appreciate that the kids are safe while there. I highly recommend the school of rock, even as an adult I can admit the school itself is super cool to see and we look forward to enrolling her in future classes.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place!!! My daughter always leaves with a smile on her face as they make it such a positive place to learn music. They truly exceeded my expectations and I am so happy my daughter goes here.
Great experience! My kid enjoys playing music with other kids from other towns. Made great friends! So fun to see and hear them perform!! Rock On kiddos!!

The staff is phenomenal with kids. They make sure every kid is comfortable and move at their pace. My 6 year old son does private guitar lessons and also does the rookies class with my 4 year old daughter who is interested in drums. It’s only been a month and I love listening to both kids talk about what they’ve learned. Their love for making music has grown tremendously. I drive 45 minutes every week just to go to the School of Rock and it’s definitely worth it!
West Hartford School of Rock is absolutely phenomenal! The confidence that they build is simply astounding. My son went from a kid who was too shy to raise his hand in class, to a kid who got up on stage in front of a 100+ crowd and not only played the guitar, but did vocals on a number of songs. The teachers make the lessons fun and build the kids up with confidence and a love of learning their instrument.
There is something for everyone. All of the staff is so encouraging and supportive. It’s a setting for any student at any level to thrive and learn and make friends and connections that will carry on forever.
