A great University where legends are made.

Beautiful campus. Grounds and buildings well maintained. We went into several different halls and such. Very nice spaces. While I wish we had caught his name, a professor from the Engineering school stopped by our table at the Furg – realizing we were there for student orientation, he asked if we had any questions. He sure didn’t have to, but really impressed me that he thought to spend a few minutes with us.

lots of green bushes, not a lot of nice plants or flowers. landscaping was not beautiful or nice. fun campus and tailgating, roll tide!

The rep for your school needs improvement … No communication at all get better reps please to come to Highschools please this one at Alatoona was horrible.. My daughter was not motivated to visit at all he couldn’t explain the band nor programs . Please do better thank you

The University of Alabama is getting “too big for its britches” and is taking over the city. I want to move. On football Saturdays I feel like a prisoner in my own home. There are too many students. It is ridiculous and involves much greediness on the part of the powers that be at UA.

Beautiful campus and excellent hosts/tour guides.

Excellent School. No grad teachers or Teaching Assistants. Full-faculty teach the classes and most classes are small. The career center is wonderful and helped me land my first real job.

Very disappointing
Unable to audit a French class because I had the wrong gender,color and age.
I did pay for the class but the instructor made it impossible to stay in the class.

I really wanted to like Montevallo, really I did, but it’s safe to say that I pretty horrible experience. In early 2020, me and mother shadowed the school and we both really liked it! At the time the school seemed lively, fun and everyone looked happy, but when the time came for me to go, it was an entirely different experience. I came in as an out-of-town transfer student that lived on campus and when I went, it was totally different experience. Everyone in the school seemed cold and unfriendly and with socially distancing and the mask mandate, it was nearly impossible to socialize. The campus seemed barren and desolate. My experience was a very lonely one and it effected me mentally. I had to end up dropping out because to it. I know there’s a pandemic going on, but you can’t just isolate kids and expect them to be okay with that.

Faculty and administrators need to work harder to ensure students can complete their degree program within four years. “Just take an extra semester” should not be the standard answer from faculty advisors every time there is a scheduling conflict (which is often!). The price you pay (literally!) for attending a small, cash-strapped school reliant almost entirely on tuition for funding, with limited course options.

I live a few blocks from here. So much to see there.

I’m an international grad student in 2016 .A very great period of my life. The campus is beautiful,the food was good in student dining hall. Overall awesome school…GO JAGS!

Perfect place in the south

I enjoyed my visit there everyone was so nice,my son now attends south as freshman.

I really love my school. It’s a great campus with wonderful police officers and faculty and staff and I couldn’t have made a better decision by coming here.

I didn’t even go to this school because admission doesn’t know what the hell they are doing and can’t get their stuff straight. They are a bunch of idiots!

Crime. There is rape. There is robbery. And there is not much being done about it. Yeah, they hired more police, but the campus is still dark in many places. What exactly is my tuition paying for? Am I not important enough for some lights when I walk to my car?

Graduate of JSU 2001. Best years of my Life. Enjoyed the Professors: Dr. Dial, Mr. Benson, Ms. Primm, and Scott. Still remember my first Dorm Room Number, Room 232 Crow Hall Baby. Parties at the TMB and the NCO club on Thursday. Yes, Back in the day they threw parties in the TMB.Cookouts behind the Dorms.Sneaking Girls in and out of the Dorm. Waiting to get your financial aid checks, and the only thing to eat late was Subway and Mc Donalds.Wings at Jefferson ‘ s. Just want to name my people from back then. Great experience good small town feel campus friendly not like the big universities had too many out of State people.to be friendly.

We just rode by the school

There’s little parking by freshman and sophomore dorms. Instead of waiting for parking to be constructed, they decided to remove a whole lot for a new hall. They have too many staff parking spots and half of them sit empty.

The teachers and staff are very nice, but the entire process is terrible. They require books that aren’t used in classes. Many teachers don’t know how to utilize or even use the technology for online classes. Grading isn’t consistent. There is no overview for the teachers. The curriculum isn’t relevant to the program. The programs aren’t empathetic to those who are employed full time. There is no feedback for teacher knowledge or performance. Tuition and book are to high. This is like a conspiracy for everyone to get their cut of your money. You don’t leave feeling like you are better prepared to teach. You just have a piece of paper that says you can.
