The owner of this location, Thomas is one amazing individual! He and his staff and extremely passionate about music and teaching others. This location is an inspirational place to be no matter what age, skill level, instrument or genre you may want to learn, they will give you the knowledge to create music all while making it fun and understanding how to work with different types of learners.
My kids have gotten a ton out of the programs at this school. I signed them up and liked being there so much that I took keys lessons, too! So awesome! Great vibe, great staff, clean, cool place to hang out and gain musical confidence and skills. Thomas puts his whole heart into his students and the whole staff cares so much about the kids.
I used to sing a lot as a little girl and up into high school, but then I got married and life got busy. I was looking for a place to get my vocal skills back, and I found it here. The open-mic nights are laid-back and there is a ton of fresh talent. I’m so grateful to have found such a good musical community to be a part of.

We are so thrilled with School of Rock in Highlands Ranch. My 7 year old son has been going here for just over 2 months now, learning drums. He’s learned so so so much in the short time he’s been there, and he’s loved every minute of it. The owners are so supportive of all the kids, and his personal instructor Christian is absolutely amazing with him.

Incredibly friendly, welcoming staff and teachers who helped my 2nd and 3rd grader figure out which classes to select. My kids are loving music right now, and asking to learn to play an additional instrument. They are excited about School of Rock camps this summer, and it’s cool to see my son walk up to the piano on his own and start playing a song. Well done School of Rock!
Kelly Roney
We love Halle! She is sweet and positive and an amazing instructor. Kelly is also awesome. She is very easy to talk to you and knowledgeable about all of the teachers. It’s evident that she tries to place your child with the best fitting teacher . Recently we had our first band performance and I was absolutely blown away. Thank you!
competent creative teachers and helpful front desk team
Our daughter has grown as a musician while taking lessons and participating in performance groups. Our highlight so far has been performing at The Fox theater in Boulder. Next up…Red Rocks!
This place used to be fabulous with great instructors who were trained in teaching kids – not just in playing. Over the past six months almost all of those teachers (who are still shown on the website) have left. The operations of the place have gone downhill and the newer instructors are a much lower caliber. It is disappointing to give a mediocre rating, as this place used to be great and my kids loved it. I hope they can turn things around.
**Editing this review WAY up from 1 star because this School has undergone some MAJOR changes in the last 6 months! There is NEW management, there are some FABULOUS (and also new) instructors, and everything is just looking amazing for this place. I’m grateful and relieved that we stuck it out through a challenging time — this is an amazing place for our kid (He has been playing here for 4 years now).
I fully expect to be able to bump this review up to 5 stars over the next several months.
We had a poor experience with the staff at the Boulder School of Rock. I understand that they have had a lot of turnover recently, Lessons were cancelled last minute and there were problems with payments. I would not recommend it to anyone.
They aren’t helping families who can’t afford to pay for lessons during this pandemic and not only that but they are still applying their 30 day notice for canceling your classes so they families who can’t afford it still have to pay for those 30 days no matter what. This is just not cool and shows they don’t care about their students and their families.
