I think you have awesome teachers! Focusing on experiencial learning and driving towards live performances is exciting and extremely motivating. I am making great friends and the classes are the highlights of my week. I am actually even learning to sing songs that I would never even have attempted. This place is awesome!
Great instructors and experience for kids and young adults. My son has really excelled there and developed a lot of confidence. Band experience is fantastic.
Love the way they create the love for the instruments and music, on the rookies class, great place

My experience with School of Rock has been mostly with private lessons and briefly with Adult Rock band. I have been playing drums for 8 years. Damon has been the perfect drum coach for me at this point. We work on rudiments, on specific songs, on improvisation, showmanship, and we just have fun. He makes me wear ear protection!
The reason I rated a 4 and not a 5 is that there is an element of rigidity in how they do things. But overall, it is an awesome place. Especially if you are a parent with a musical child it is fantastic.

We joined school of rock nearly a year ago today. To say it was a life changing experience barely does it justice. Heather has created an environment that is second to none. She clearly treats her staff and instructors well and with proper respect as I’ve seen ZERO turnover in a year. That is a feat.
Watching my kids flourish in a way I never expected. My, seemingly, shy boy is turning into a man and his experience in front of the mic is part of it for certain. And my daughter has committed to drums in a way I didn’t expect. She even got behind the mic recently to sing which she used to say she was too shy to do! Performing as part of a group is irreplaceable.
The community is what makes this place work and Heather has created a space where community is first in importance. Do yourself a favor. Send your kids here for a trial lesson! Then just skip the wait (like we should have) and just do a trial lesson for yourself for the adult band you absolutely won’t regret it

The whole process of calling to get information, scheduling a free trial, and signing up was very easy. Evan was so hepful , answering my emails and questions promptly. My son is 4yo and having an instrument class at this point would be impossible so the group lessons are a perfect opportunity for him to try out the drums, guitar, etc. He is learning music in a fun way!
Really great program. Very encouraging an patient with my son. I have seen him grow and his musical talents improve
My kids love this place! When I pick them up from band practice they’re on a high. Everyone is really kind, supportive and extremely capable.

I absolutely love the School of Rock in Santa Rosa! Jake is amazing with the kids and they always have a great time! Last week they made musical instruments and we “played” The limbo! His energy with kids great to watch and introducing music to kids is so important and they do it in such a fun and engaging way!

The teachers have all been amazing, and both my son and I are enjoying our lessons. We look forward to coming every week. Additionally, both of us have become more outgoing and confident in our performance ability.
What’s not to like? My daughter gets to be surrounded by other kids with a passion for music. It’s fun. The music is great. The instructors are great. My daughter has learned so much, and is having fun in the process.
Our son is learning to play multiple instruments in a fun environment. He’s developing a great taste for music. He loves the classes and the instructors. Awesome program.

Our daughter had a great time at Rock Band Bootcamp this summer! She loves music, and it was a great way to expose her to different aspects of what goes into a band playing a song!
My son loves his teacher and has grown in his abilities so much in just a few months that it is just extraordinary. Also, my son (who has trouble connecting with people) has so much fun when he is there and is always encouraged with positive feedback. Worth every penny.
Instructors really care about their students. Management goes above and beyond to work with your schedule and requests to make it work for all.

We are extremely pleased with this summer camp. Our son thrived. We 100% recommend.
Since my son was little, he always had an ear for music. I signed him up at school of Rock to meet kids with similar interest and to learn and play music. Two years and 3 instruments later.. I highly recommend School of Rock. The teachers and staff are awesome and it’s where we have found a “happy place” for our Son. We look forward to watching our Son grow with School of Rocks programs.
Such an awesome program and studio! The staff and teachers are amazing! My daughter absolutely LOVES her classes, loves her teacher and she is learning so much! Thank You School of Rock!
Last week, my eight year old daughter attended the song writing camp at the School of Rock in Fairfax. We live in the Bay Area, and travelled down south for my son to attend a filmmaking camp. My daughter is a young musician, and I thought that while in LA, it would be a fun opportunity for her to attend a music camp.
While I am not sure that my daughter actually learned anything she didn’t already know prior to the camp, just being around other young musicians is I think a positive thing. Of the two music teachers, she said that Todd was a friendly teacher and very supportive. However, of the other teacher, Anthony, she said “he was kind of nice, but not really.” Her feelings were hurt when she asked him to write down the chords for one of the songs they’d started creating (so that she could practice in the hotel room) and he responded in a rude tone “do you even know how to play the guitar?” and didn’t write them down. While Chloe has been playing the piano for three years, she only 6 months ago started the guitar, and she’s still learning. Cut the kid a break.
But the thing that really upsets me about this camp is what one of the other employees did (and I am leaving the employees name out in the hope that this review will lead to self-refection and positive changes in their future). For people who are considering sending their child to one of these camps, FYI, they offer to the get the kids a lunch for $10 a day, and I suggest you always send your child with that exact amount. On the first day of camp, I sent my daughter with two $5’s for lunch, and a $20 for emergency. At lunch, she was unable to locate one of the $5’s (which she later realized had simply tightly pocketed itself within the other $5). She went to the employee as they were the person in charge of getting the lunches, and told them that she couldn’t find a $5, but that she had a $20. The employee said that was fine, and then asked my daughter if she would either like her $10 change, or would she rather have the employee keep it and apply it towards the next day’s lunch. My daughter said the employee could apply it to next day’s lunch. But, the next day when it came time for lunch, the employee approached my daughter and asked her for $10. My daughter reminded the employee that she had given her a $20 bill the day before, and that when the employee had told her she could either give her change or apply it to the following day’s lunch, that my daughter had told the employee to apply it to the following day. But, the employee’s response was that they would never do that; that if my daughter had given the employee a $20, they would just give her change, and that my daughter had to give the employee another $10 if she wanted lunch. Unfortunately, the initial $20 transaction had taken place in the small office that the employee sits in, with just the two of them present, so there was nobody to witness what the employee did. Obviously, my daughter wanted to eat, so she gave the employee another $10. This left my daughter believing that one of two things had occurred. She thought either the employee honestly didn’t remember that they’d told my daughter they’d apply to the next day the $10 dollars change owed her (which my daughter found hard to believe because in her words “there were only 8 kids and — is too young to have memory problems”) OR that the employee stole $10 from her.
This was a one week, Mon-Fri camp, and I found about the problem Wednesday morning before dropping her off. I did not feel comfortable addressing this with the employee and then leaving my daughter there. Suffice it to say, I made sure she had exact change for the remaining three lunches. On Friday, I had to send her with ten $1’s and told her to make sure the employee counted them out in front of her. I asked my daughter what she learned from the experience with the employee. She said that she learned you can never trust anybody, especially if you don’t know them. It stinks that my daughter had to learn that from an adult at a music school.

School of Rock has been life changing for my daughter Sydney. The instructors are inspiring and my daughter has grown so much as a musician.
They make learning music so fun for the kids. The performance program rocks!
The teachers here are amazing!! So engaging and knowledgeable
Great staff great location great music
Kelly who “runs” the school is absolutely awful. She is unprofessional, combative, lacks follow-up skills, lacks customer service skills, and is incredibly rude and unable to resolve conflict. I would never send my child to a place that is run by a person like Kelly. That said, I pulled my child out of the summer camp.

This place has to be the new gem for kids to learn music and expand their musical talents. Knowing Jason and Cecilia and their passion I’m sure this place will be a success.
Best music program around! Staff is amazing, program is unique, and my boys absolutely love it here! Check it out for yourself – they offer a first trial lesson for free.
Great place to explore the joy that music can bring to young ones.
Staff is top notch.
What a GREAT Magical Place! I started there as a young flute student! 40 Years later I am STILL friends with So MANY HAYWARD La HONDA MUSIC CAMPERS!! Go CAMP!!
This camp changed my life a musician and a person when I went there. I was surrounded by so many other motivated musicians my age and types of people (my kind of people) I didn’t even know existed before hand. I had directors and teachers that inspired me so much with their ability. They gave clear advice to the group and always found time to help me as an individual when I was struggling. I never grew so quickly in ability and knowledge anywhere else. I could tell hours of stories and experiences of the joy and sense of belonging this camp brought me. Just go! And be ready to play your instruments, hone your skills, and have a really awesome time.

Pat is an amazing, dedicated drum teacher. My son loves it and has grown so much. The communication with Larry is so easy and flexible. You can tell they care a lot about the students and the teachers. It’s an awesome place. Absolutely recommend.
Teachers and staff are patient and considerate. Plus the prices affordable
HB School of Rock is awesome. The whole staff is wonderful. They give the kids opportunities to develop at their own pace and are very supportive. Would recommend to anyone.
It’s an ok school there can be sassy people if your going into juniors it’s worst if you are a hyper person you will most likely be liked for a little while and then when someone does a mean thing you will probably be mad but there’s the good times to

My daughter has been enrolled at Coast Music for about a year and half. We are so thankful for the inspiration, skills and love of music that Coast has given to her. The staff and students are extraordinary…extremely talented, fun and sweet. This school has a great positive vibe and real sense of community.
Our son has been taking private drum lessons for a year at Coast with a great teacher. It has been a very positive experience and he has learned so much! Now he also started a band class as well and that has enhanced his love for drumming and for music in general. We are so happy here!
Very nice, friendly, and straight forward . Nice quality equipment and enthusiasm.
